    Thanks,
I'll try that tomorrow and see if that helps. If so, I may get a new shaft made with some higher quality parts.

My truck also has this issue, has gotten worse since my 63s, I'm gonna get a driveshaft built and see if that helps

I installed the ICON (Deaver) AAL along with associated components years ago. I did not have the issue you mention but, I do have an '03 RC w/ 1 piece driveshaft. I am not familiar with the later models.

Does your OEM driveshaft have the double cardan joint?

Once I went to an 8 pack Deaver set of leafs, I still don't have issues after ironing out some issues with my SAS which were not leaf related.

    Hope this helps you.

I'd agree with the 884's, I have 884's installed and I like them, they provide around an 2 inches of lift with around 220lbs of armor on the front.

I don't remember exactly, I got them from an SOS Concepts group buy so all my armor was discounted.

    http://sosoffroadconcepts.com/05-15-tacoma-100-frame-bolt-on-sliders/

currently they are $390 + Shipping

They are good sliders, well worth the money, I got T-Boned this winter by a car and they hit the sliders instead of my door/bed, well worth the investment IMO

This is a shot in the dark, but on my 1st gen I just got a sliding rear window and I could hear a rattle when decelerating. I figured out it was coming from the muffler area by gently thumping on the bed with my fist. I took off the heat shield that's fastened to the underside of the bed above the muffler, and 5 or 6 pieces of gravel fell onto my face. The rattle disappeared after that.

I love that look! I was thinking about putting the same decal on my tailgate.

No, unfortunately the 2nd gen trucks do not have a double cardan joint...

Do the 1st gen regular cabs have a cv joint?

Thanks, but I rode in the bed last night while the wife drove, and this is definitely coming from the rear driveline on coasting.

I can't vouch for all RC's but my Pre runner has one.
I will have the front shaft built in the same fashion.

    Hope this helps.

    Are you lifted at all?
If so, perhaps shimming the axle will assist in setting the pinion angle to match the output flange angle.

I am curious as to why you do not have the DC.

1.5" Icon AAL in the rear. All 2nd gen regular cabs came with a single piece DS with two normal u-joints. No DC joints... Probably Toyota cost savings at its finest.

Greasing the snot out of both rear u-joints did not have any effect on my truck unfortunately.

    It is this exact noise.

Mine is not nearly as loud... Or maybe it was just because the camera is right next to the noise?

That was a vid that was posted way back in this thread. I don't know who's truck that is...

Damn... I couldn't watch the entire video. That was awful.

It doesn't sound like drive shaft to me. Is there any slop towards the front of the shaft near the flange? Try grabbing it and wiggle it up & down and sideways, looking for a possible output bearing going away on the transfer case.

I wish I could help you on this.

    Thanks,
No slop in anything, the truck only has 45,000 miles on it. Everything feels tight. The only play I can feel is in the stock slip portion of the driveshaft.

It only does it on coast. If there is any kind of load: acceleration or deceleration the noise is not present. If you throw it in neutral or coast with the clutch in it is present...

Really odd. I may put it back on the stock rear overload and see if it goes away?

Mine does it too. At around 35 it is very loud. And on coast at highway speeds, I have convinced myself it is my slip yoke.. I stretched my rear about 3/4 of an inch when I did my 63s, and don't have much spline to spline contact in my slip so I'm just gonna hope it goes away when I get a new shaft, and worry about it if doesn't.
