Yes. I was going to suggest this. That his how I made my mounts.

A hole saw for the tweeter diameter and some hot glue and youre golden

I was thinking about doing this as an option as well. I'll see if I can't wrangle some from a audio shop or buy a sheet from Amazon. Thanks for the help and suggestions.

I did take the bolt out that was causing interference and the cover fit. Problem was it was loose enough to allow rattling

Decided to take a break from doing anything yesterday. It's been too hot and humid to work in the garage. On the plus side the wife is starting to warm up to a part time a/c unit in there, woohoo!

So I've hooked up the Metra harness to the head unit and fished the wire behind the glove box and to under the passenger seat. This also included the bass knob for the lc7i and its power wire.

    image.jpg
    image.jpg

Did manage to take the passenger tweeter and mounting adapter. I said screw it I'm making my own.
Thin piece of Abs plastic cut using the old adapter as a rough template. Cut two outlines of hushmat per. Stick on and cut out the speaker and bolt hole and viola new adapter.

    image.jpg
    image.jpg
    image.jpg

The hushmat does a perfect job keeping the tweeter in place with no movement.

Next is to get the tweeters back in. Get the front seats out. Route, hide and trim the wires to the audiocontrol and amp and power it up! :bananadance::bananadance::bananadance:

Ouch. I have a feeling I'll sweat off more than a few tomorrow myself.

I hope I can get it wrapped up tomorrow but I'm guessing it will be some time next week.

Only made it a few hours before calling it quits today. I damaged the sub bass remote wire some how and had to route a new one. Lucky for me the amp came with one as well. That was an hour or so wasted.

Got the front seats out started on the passenger side. Got it all cleaned up, wires routed and lc7i ready for power.
    image.jpg
    image.jpg

Got the passenger speaker and remote turn on wire for the amp all the way to just at the rear seats. D'oh I have to take the rear seats out too? Was trying to avoid it.
Went to the driver side and routed the amp power wire to the where it's going to be.

Turns out I didn't have enough wire for the sub. Things will be put on hold till I get a longer length. Put the driver seat back in and parked it in the driveway.

That sucks you ran short on power wire. Things are looking good though.

Well I had to route things differently than I assumed would work. Didn't have extra wire, will now though. Also managed to take the rear side panels off and avoided taking those seats out. Routed the clump,of speaker wires through that weird rear wall brace. There should be a warning that those tabs on either side are sharp as hell. Got some good cuts and covered them with the hush tape.

Stinging the wires through there would have been much easier with and extra set of hands. Wife isn't into the garage heat.

Sub speaker wire will be here tomorrow. I'll get back on track then.

Will clean this up a little tomorrow.

All hooked up,and running. A few weird things going on. The lc7i signal lights aren't coming on even though they are putting signal to the amp.

Getting a crappy static from the tweeters only, Not sure how to diag that one. Guess I'll turn the music up till I get the energy to look into it further.

In the meantime I have to get the truck back together. The wife has voiced her dissatisfaction there has only been a driver seat in it for the last few weeks and a stool wasn't cutting it.

Noise is usually a ground problem, but not necessarily. Any alternator noise or clicking/popping?

I had something hooked up wrong on the inputs of the signal processor and it didn't sound as good as it should and things were not working correctly on my zxsum8 like the sub output and the bass knob. Once I got everything all hooked up correctly it sounded 10 times better and everything started working correctly. I would double check to see if you have all the + and - correctly connected.

It looks like you don't have a remote turn on wire in to your lc7i. I think that may be your problem.

Trigger wire to loc and amp should be the red wire in your metra harness. For power and ground wires, just run a piece of wire to the 4 gauge power and ground wire that you ran for your amp.

There was some wiring mix up. Sorted most of it out, the signal lights still don't work but all of the knobs do including the bass knob. Eh.

New problem. Had to take passenger rear door panel off as aspeaker stopped putting out sound. Lead came loose some how. Got the door back together and now the door lock and handles will not work. I can't get the door open at all. I didn't mess with either the lock or handle cables at all. I can see that the cable is still attached when I peer in when pulling. Any advice on this? Kinda miffed that this happened right as I got it all back together.

Nothing's bolted down. Going to build some metal brackets some time in the future for the amp and audiocontrol

Just unscrew inner door handle and pull it out. Should be able to pull on the cable and get it open.

I pretty sure I tried that. You are talking about the one screw that holds in the lock/handle mechanism right?

I'll give it another go tomorrow to see if I understand what you are saying. I'm friggin exhausted, sweat rolling off face all day. Damn this heat wave.
