Putting my FJ up for sale.

2014 Trail Teams. Auto with 23,750 miles. Stock. Well-maintained. Never off-roaded.

    Suggestions for asking price?

    Thanks for your thoughts.

Yeah I did price it out there. More accurate I think than KBB. Not trying to annoy anyone, just wanted real people's opinions.... There seems to be a huge range of asking and sale prices on the interwebz, especially for the Trail Teams trucks.

KBB advises people to give their vehicles away. Use NADA.

So true.... KBB says 31k for clean trade in, while NADA says 36k.

Going to take it to CarMax tomorrow to establish the lowball floor price I'm likely to get offered, and then establish an asking price. (Unlikely to actually sell it to them. But who knows, I've actually heard of a few people who got really good offers from them on high-demand vehicles.)

I have done some lurking but haven't actually posed the question on any of those forums.

Low priced trucks sell very quickly. Trucks with high initial asking prices (cuz "one just sold on ebay for 53k so mine's worth 47k") languish with multiple BTT price reductions until they sell. No surprise there I guess. Tricky part is finding the sweet spot.

    BTW, like your truck.

Just picked up my second 1st gen Tacoma. Hoping to use cash out of the FJ to finish my first Tacoma build and start working on the new arrival.

I would think since they are discontinued, and yours being low mileage, it should fetch top dollar. But I'm certainly no expert.

I looked on cars.com and they are going from $25k to $55k. $55k is crazy! It looks like most TT's are going for around $39K. It's going to depend on where you live too. Is your a Trail Team edition or a Trail Team Unlimited edition (with crawl control). The TTUE's are worth more. I would ask $42, you know someone is going to try and talk you down. Good luck with the sale.

You're right on demand and price being all over the place. I think getting your rock bottom price is a really good idea. Then add 5-10 k on top of that! lol I never thought about selling my TT, so I can't suggest a price, good luck with the sale though!

I sold mine to Carmax for $35,500 with 31K miles. Not lowball at all in my opinion. Simple and much better dealing with the tire kicking wannabes. That alone is worth $500 in headache elimination.

My 2012 FJC sold 4 months ago for 500.00 more than I paid new for it, and the only mods were a toytec lift and aluminess bumper.

You should be able to get $42 for yours, TT Ultimate Edition are pretty rare.
