That's bullshit of Firestone to pull that game with you. Customer service aside, how do you like their unlimited alignments? I have a firestone near me and have been contemplating snatching that deal up. Although I hear the knowledge can be different from shop-to-shop. Some shops have crew members capable of aligning lifted trucks with aftermarket parts and some seem to be not capable of much more than oil changes.

Can anyone recommend a good camping spot up in Big Bear? Gonna have a little weekend trip with some friends so need a spot that can accommodate a small group.

How many rigs and tents in your group? Looking for pay sites with toilets? Showers? Or more primitive free camping such as a yellow post sites?

Not totally sure yet, but I'd say 2-3 cars/trucks, and maybe 3 tents. Primitive camping is more what I'm looking for, but if there's a cheap place with bathrooms I'm sure some of the girls wouldn't mind it. Definitely don't need showers though

So if cars are coming then yellow post sites aren't going to work out unless you leave them at Serrano Campground overflow lot. However, If you wanna be near the lake with flush toilets then Serrano Campground is legit. It's not primitive and is often sold out, but it's worth a check. An added bonus is Serrano has free (included in price) hot showers, but you said they aren't needed so yeah, just a bonus there.

Holcomb Valley campground is cool and requires some off roading to get to although I've seen cars and RV's there before so don't fret damage to any cars - just take it easy. Plenty of trees that provide shade and there's vault toilets.

Crab Flats (requires crossing about a of foot of water to get to) Campground and Barton Flats campgrounds are good too and is near Jenks Lake. However, both of those are still 30 mins or so south of Big Bear Lake. Both with vault bathrooms.

Wood gathering dead fall is fine. You need a permit if your doing any kind of cutting or spliting.

Awesome thanks for the info. Might look for a spot at Serrano. I wanna do some fishing while I'm up there and it sounds like that's the only place close by water as the others going don't have water crossing capable vehicles. The yellow posts wouldn't be bad but I do want to have a fire as well but looks like that's not allowed at the moment

Check with Serrano that fires are allowed just to be safe. This time of year even established sites shut down open fires. However, propane fire rings are usually still allowed but you have to bring your own. Also, hop on the forestry website and get yourself a campfire permit. It's free and takes 10 minutes tops. It's a video you watch I believe and no test after. Print out the permit and throw it in your glove box. It's nice to have to avoid any hassle by the rangers or camp hosts.

Edit: I just checked and it will take you about 2.75 minutes. haha Oh, and there is a quiz and super easy quiz
