Well crap. My Firestik didn't have a spacer with it in the package. I think I may need to go back to the drawing board LOL

Please see the post again, as I just added something to it.

The separator comes with the lug/bolt assembly and not the antenna. Just so that you know.

Thank you very much for the kind words. Believe it or not, I'm still learning things myself. LOL, I just learned about DeLorme inReach today thanks to @HalfWayThere  I've definitely come across some members that know quite a bit more than me as well. But, when all said and done, I can hold my own. I'm just glad I'm able to help someone out there that doesn't know too much and I am able to teach them and hopefully they pass along the knowledge!!!:fistbump::cheers:

Finally, LOL, my posts have been dubbed "Randy's Wall", LMAO!!! I try to keep'm short, but love yapp'n when it comes to radios and stuff, LOL!!!
Again, thank you so much for the kind words!!! It is VERY appreciated!!!:fistbump::cheers:
remember people, life is too F'N short!!! Be kind and be safe out there!!!:fistbump::cheers:

    Happy Wheel'n to ALL :mudding:

I apologize, I thought it was clear on the pics that it was wedge with the black plating . I just a flat head to insert the mount in there and you can run the rg8 right behind it big enough opening right behind the brake light

No, it was pretty clear, I just wanted to verify. I took a look at it on mine and it will work perfect. I ran the cable behind the trail light in preparation to find a good route up to the cab. How/where did you run the cable into the cab?

Working on my CB install. More pics to come as soon as I get my radio. I will also get some of the mount and antenna location.

I plan on using some silicone to seal this grommet up.

Make sure you don't forget to seal the grommet. I remembered, and am happy I did.

I think I will end up moving the antenna to the front using a hood mount and get a shorter antenna. I'm not sure how I like the look of it being in the rear.

Radio comes tomorrow just in time for a trip to Colorado.

I used to have CB's in my old cars prior to Cell Phones. Just don't see the use these days. True SHTF maybe a handheld HAM but... I get all the comms I need via smartphone. Of Course this is a SoCal Suburban dude. May be different in the sticks.

Close quarter comm with off-road groups. Sometimes a requirement for some off-road clubs.

Good way to communicate along the trail. Obstacle/trail guidance, head's up, warnings and all around fun chatter. Can't do that with a cell phone.

True that. I am not in Tennessee anymore where it was a necessity. I am glad to see it is still alive and well for club events.

How useful were smartphones during Hurricane Sandy or Katrina? Sure, CB's are a little outdated and a handheld ham or mobile version in a vehicle probably offers better utility, But they are fun to use and very inexpensive for a basic setup. I have a Uniden 520 pro and it serves it purpose very well. Not everyone wants to get a ham license, albeit they are not that hard to get.
