I built my own road shower out of a 5 gallon corny tank and a airhose and garden sprayer. Less than $100

    Got ya.

How did you line up where you wanted the holes? I'm thinking of placing the case on the roof rack where I want it, marking one location somehow, then measuring the distance between the bars and drill holes.

Yup, I picked the initial spot I wanted, and then measure about 1/4" extra after measuring the bar

Got a dumb question, how long did you guys leave the spacers sitting in the silicone before placing the rack on them? Installing the rack by myself so hoping they are somewhat sturdy as I place the rack in the right spot.

I usually do it right away. If you are doing it by yourself only install 3 crossbars to begin. One in the front, one in the back and one in the middle to square up the rack. Then it is easier to lift on the truck. After it is on and bolted down, add the other crossbars and wind deflector.

Got another hypothetical question for you Zach. Say 6 months down the line I find some roof moldings, would it be a good idea to unscrew the rack or would the screws being in the spacers/silicone possibly rip out the silicone?

I know @Blackout14 mentioned he's had no roof moldings and has zero issues and that'll most likely be my way to go cause roof moldings are hard to find for cheap.

I had one other person and soooo glad I did! We placed them and attached without delay. Was much easier though like I said, with two people to help line them up at the same time good luck you'll love the rack.

I have had my rack uninstalled for a while. I haven't really needed it quite yet. What I did was install the bolts and washers to prevent water from entering the cab.

Edit: I meant to add that installing the bolts also prevented the spacers from moving.

Wish I had the extra hand but the wife wants the rack out of the guest bedroom before she gets home from work so I figured its best to get it done soon lol

If you remove the rack at any time just remove it, pull as much of the silicone off and clean it really well. Then plug the holes with the bolts and some washers. When you go to reinstall, do it as if it were the first time. I have removed and reinstalled mine numerous times and have never had an issue.

Installed and good to go. Thanks for the replies everyone. Only knocked over 2 spacers while moving around the rack, easy fix with more silicone. 0725161411.jpg
