It's going to be a little bit more than 39K. Expect 42+.

An OR with P/T cost 39K.

If they are going to be the same or more then a Limited, we can expect to pay close to 50K + in Canada and that's before taxes, add 12% tax in B.C and were bending over....

Just put a deposit on one today. Build date mid-August, should be here sometime in September. :)

Does anyone know how the dealership's allocation cycle works? They can currently see some 2017 TRD Pros that will be built in August. Can they see any further than that? For example, can they see what will be built in November? Or do they get allocations one month at time, meaning that next month they will see what is being built in September and then be able to allocate those vehicles?

My local dealer has 4 on allocation. He only has temp vins right now, and "gets what he gets" as far as color/options.

I think at this point all is speculation as Toyo is living up to there expectations when it comes to info being released on the Taco! It's rumored they're build 3k TRD Pro's and of that 5% are MT (150 trucks with MT!) I saw the allocation for the SE (FL, GA, NC, SC & AL) being built in Aug and if you apply that across the country you're well short of 3k trucks. If I were to guess (and I am guessing,) there will be another wave of Pro's being built later this year. The earlier adopters like myself will be able to share pricing in coming weeks so everyone else has an understanding of what they're commiting to. I do believe some AT's will hit dealership showrooms before being gobbled up by folks anxious to own a Pro but confident this won't be the case with MT's. Also these Pro's I mention being displayed in showrooms across the country will be dealers commanding $5k mark up from MSRP! Happy hunting and GL with your search!

I am skeptical myself. However, the dealership in my area indicated they will not be marking it up. I was told the price will be MSRP. Given that my $500 to reserve the vehicle is refundable, if the price is above $42k, I may back out. We'll see. I want one, but not that bad, especially considering I would prefer to have a long bed.

that's been my thought all along.

I've decided to pull my deposit and keep what I have. Other than the color being
appealing to me, I'd be losing way too much cash between - the trade, loss of features
I already have as well as about 4k in mods I've put on so far. I'm thinking all of that
will put me in the red about 10k when it's all said and done.

So not worth it dude. Like you and others have mentioned you can build a better truck for less. Sure its a cool factory option, but trading in to get one or paying over MSRP is silly, its a tacoma, 3 years from now there will be another version of the PRO and everyone will be clamoring for that. The 2012 Baja's were actually the first PROs and those aren't fetching anything special these days. What mods do you have? Sounds like a nicely built truck, I've had a few, but trying to stay stock this time.

Not to argue lol, but the bajas were pretty stripped down. I think these pros will hold their value a little better, but yeah I def would NOT pay over MSRP or take a big loss on trade of something to get one.

The 12-13 Baja's were pretty close to 14-15 Pros, only difference was the grille, shift knob and emblems, both had different wheels, the BAJAs had graphics and both had the same suspension upgrade. Besides us Taco nerds here, the average jo shmoe isn't going to pay for the extra for the PRO, they will get the best bang for the buck used so Off road, Sport, SR5. It isn't as much as a collector item as everyone thinks. Toyota will keep making them new lol. Again for anyone ready to bash me, I'm not bashing the Pro, its for a certain buyer.

My '08 Sport DCLB is paid off, so the decision isn't an easy one as I'll have a car payment again. But with some of the larger mechanical issues I'm having and considering my platinum warranty just expired, I'm more inclined to get something new. I'll covet the Pro if I don't get it, so if I'm going to get a new Taco, I might as well "go big or go home." Odd logic perhaps, but it keeps me from having buyer's remorse.

Not at all dude, seeing that you held on to your 08 for 8 years and paid it off and will do the same for the pro likely no biggy, if I had the money when I was buying I would have bought a loaded DCLB OR, but they weren't negotiating much on it price wise compared to the SR5 and too much for my blood. Its still a very cool OEM truck. Post pics when you get it and get cement for the love of all things good, so much sex that color is.

TRD Pro is supposed to have one inch of lift in the front only, which is really just a leveler. Unless they are running larger tires, ground clearance will be the same.

Take this with a grain (or a full shaker) of salt, its coming from my sales person. The allocations come out about every other week. So far, there have been two releases, according to her. I have no idea how many have been released.

There are some Toyota employees, or at least former, that post here who could confirm or correct this.
