That would've been cool! I appreciate it, next time for sure. My father in law is considering building a house on one of his lots in Oregon and staying there for the warmer parts of the year and in Guam during winter. There's a possibility the gf and I will be going back and forth.

I somehow managed to replace my LBJ's a few months ago but it was such a PITA. I swear I wanted to light my truck on fire...a few times. Next time LBJ's go out I will be buying the entire lower arm. Good luck on your search!

Yea man the motocross is huge in washougal. Been going for years. All the pros were up there this weekend tearing it up and I suggest attending the event next year, lots of fun. Especially if you ride. Good to know on the power line muddin too, I was up NE of that area a few months back and found some good wheelin trails on our way to hike Star Mountain. I love that area. Lots to do.

can you do it w/out a plate or is that needed? Interested to know where you started and finished as I am wanting to hit some up this year. I want to stay away from any pavement though.

Definitely do it if you can. Its worth it.

Well...as long as you're on gravel I don't think a plate is necessary. I don't have one on my dirtbike. We had to run into town for gas. It ended up being about 50 miles of hwy I did with the dirtbike without issue. There are so many dirt roads out there that you can bypass pavement for the most part. Still have to cross hwys and do short pavement sections. The biggest issue is fuel range with the bikes. That's the biggest reason you end up doing pavement.

We startee in Sisters and ran down th Wikyup Reservoir and back. Nice 300ish mile loop.

So what sort of minimum bike mileage would you recommend? My little 2.1 gallon tank hits the light at around 75 miles, but I've never tested running it dry. I've driven 15 miles on the light and I still only fill for no more than 1.5 gallons or so.

What sort of difficulty would you give it? I'm still woefully lacking in dirt knowledge and wouldn't want to hold people up if a meet up ever was planned.

It's easy if you are a decent rider. If you are a novice you are going to get bumps and bruises. I was on route 5 this weekend and some dude on a Triumph cased a rock and lost all oil, but we patched him up and he made it out. As far as fuel, you really need at least 150 miles range to be comfy. A lot of the gas stations are small mom and pop deals that may or may not be open. I use a 2 gal rotopax.

Just about to buy those Dirt King upper and lowers from Total Automotive Performance, they seem to have the best price. Going to give the B/S/T a last scour here at lunch. Hate it when work takes away from the important things in life ;)

@username : heim or standard bushing? I'm arguing $50 so it's measly in perspective, but I don't know if it makes sense or if it's going to be a headache come time for alignment, etc.
