Whaaaa....? It's like I don't even know you anymore! ;)

Haha. I do hope it makes your truck suck less for you. I'm really liking the changes so far, but I've got less than 100 miles on the TSB, so I'm reserving full judgment.

Mine is in today for the control arm plugs and transmission flash. We'll see how it responds. Overall I've been happy with the truck's performance but I would like to see more linear shifting when using D mode.

Up to now I've been using S4 under 45 mph and S5 or S6 on the highway with no problems other than about 1-2 mpg poorer than when using D on the same commute.

I'm interested what you have to say about it; I drove mine the same way prior to the TSB.
    I now use D...

Got a call saying it's finished and they said to give it a 2-3k miles to re-learn due to being an adaptive transmission.

Service manager said though if I'm having any problems to bring it in right away, no appt is necessary, wants to make sure I'm satisfied with the truck's performance.

I'll pick it up tonight after work but won't know the results til later. In the meantime I'll keep it in D for the process and avoid S or ECT modes for the next few thousand miles to give it a chance.

I noticed a fairly distinct difference right away. I was pleasantly surprised. However i agree with the dealer it may take a while to see what affects stick and which ones are overridden by the adaptive learning transmission. One thing I know for certain, learning can be good as well as bad.

That's why I'll resist S mode or ECT during the learning process.

Seems to "coast" more. Stays in the upper gears longer before down shifting. No delay from P-D or R-D now. Haven't used cruise control yet.

I drive pretty gingerly, but something I noticed immediately is that when i'm coasting -- say 40ish, and want to pass. The truck would have a sligtht delay before downshifting, and I wouldn't call it the smoothest downshift. Now with the update, I downshift is much cleaner and quicker. That was a nice surprise.

chiming in to remind myself to reply with results. appointment tomorrow. dealer was difficult on the phone when i said i was calling about the TSB saying i had to have symptoms to warrant the fix. luckily i had it documented at my 5k service i had them check my transmission fluid for a sluggish R-D transfer. which of course they said they couldn't duplicate and was probably due to winter. tranny fluid level was fine, and they didn't do anything else at the time.

I had the chance to do a longer test drive. Going from Wyoming to Colorado with minimal wind. Speed limit is 80 with a few areas of construction at 65 mph.

When using cruise control it will now upshift at the top of the hill instead of continuing to stay in 4th gear forever. Still seems to drop to 4th too fast going up a hill in cruise control. A few times the transmission could't find the gear 6-5-4-5-4 type of behavior, and this was only when going up a hill. I hope that the learning process will take care of that again. i didn't have problems with that in cruise before the update. The truck tended to stayed in 5th and 6th better in cruise even when going up hill. Overall much improved cruise control experience.

When not using cruise control it easily maintained speed in 6th or 5th if going up a small incline. Will still drop to 4th gear to maintain speed on a larger hill. Prior to the update if the truck would drop to 4th when I lost speed it would then quickly accelerate in 4th until I was speeding. I would ease off the gas and would downshift to 5th, and then loose speed again. This cycle would repeat and it was hard to maintain 80 going up hill. Either too fast or too slow. Now when it drops to 4th I can back off the throttle and it will stay in 4th and I can maintain my speed where I want it. Again much better.

After a week I have had no hesitation from R-D.

Final note MPG for the trip down was 22. Last time it was 19. N value of 2 so take that with a grain of salt.

I'm going to wait til 1500, 2k miles before I make any judgements or post results on any specific changes to driveability.

Flash is done so the learning process begins. At least nothing bad happened on the way home from the dealership.
