Swapped out the sport hood this weekend with @IdRatherBNTheSanJuans. I like the new look

    Thanks!

Unfortunately on the way home, I went from a 6 lug pattern to a 5 lug pattern on my driver side rear wheel when it decided it didn't want to be on my truck anymore. Fortunately, it happened after I got of the highway doing 75mph, and I was approaching a traffic light and was going less than 10 mph.

With all the suspension work I've done in the past month or so, I have no one to be blame but myself for not double checking and tightening the lug nuts down. I'm glad no one else was hurt, and I didn't screw up my nice new hood.

I have six OEM studs coming in tomorrow, and trying get my hands two sets of replacement lugs to match what I've got...just to have an extra set.

I think the tire is ok, but I was thinking that since theres damage to this wheel, and my current trail spare doesn't have any scratches yet, i should probably swap it out for safety reasons, and because I want all my wheels to match.

Replaced my studs yesterday, and put 6 lug nuts on each wheel  so I can drive again.

Today I decided to start on some of the wiring for my aux fuse box. I don't really know what I'm doing here, but I read that a fly back diode will help extend the life of your relays by giving a path to discharge voltage when the relay is opened. For certain accessories, I believe this is actually necessary to protect the accessory, so I'm practicing my soldering by attaching diodes from pin 85 (-) to pin 86 (+) on all of my harnesses just to be safe.

It's probably going to take me a few months to get this whole thing put together. I'm still thinking about how I want to do the Lexan, or if I'm going to put this in a water tight box.

Progress on the aux box...cut and shaped the Lexan, and mocked up the layout.

I didn't know you had a shackle flip. How do you like it?

The shackle flip is in new since the last time you saw my truck. I'm happy with it after some modifications to get the angle I wanted on my springs. It's when of the best looking ones IMHO. The manufacturer has since modified the design the accommodate shorter springs a little better

Any improvement in ride comfort? Or just a little added flex?

I simultaneously swapped to Dakars so it's hard to say what the improvement was just from the flip.

Better to ask what I have not done.
They were a little better ride. If your paying attention you will notice more body roll and turning corners and giving gas you will notice more frequent tire squeal. The big benifit is your able to add longer shackles and or change the shackle angle, longer gives you more dampining and the closer to 45degress the better the ride because your arc move in closer powers, sin=cos at 45 and around there they stay close to the same.
