Been having a sporadic not all the time bog / hesitation on light throttle input . If I were to get on the loud pedal harder to get past this bog there is no driveabilty issues

I've been noticing this problem since I bought the truck from the original owner 3 months ago and the truck only has 56k miles . As mentioned this bog / hesitation doesn't happen all the time

I just had a 60k mile service done and that included new plugs , fuel filter , fuel injector service , clean maf and clean throttle body . Could this be a TPS , IAC valve or EGR problem

Maybe I'm just used to V8 power and with the 4 cylinder be more aggressive on throttle input I don't know ????

    Any codes?

Try a different fuel station and a little higher octane.

    It's a 2002 2.7 3RZ 4 cyl

No codes or CEL and have tried two different gas stations only have 91 octane and what is recommended by TRD for the supercharger

Okay. I'd look at your fuel pressure regulator. I'm not sure of the pressure requirements but chances are during accelerating it falls below the delivery requirements.

Just spent the last couple hrs researching this driveabilty issue and it is a fairly common problem on NA engines not just boosted either 2.4 , 2.7 and 3.4 engines . It involves alot of components of the fuel system and even Toyota dealership mechanics have a hard time figuring this issue out

Some owners have thrown lots of money replacing parts and no change in performance . This problem only affects 96 - 04 models,

    Nope

Read post #7 , as I mentioned this a very common problem I take as it involves many 1rst gens and no matter what you fix the problem may reappear later and it involves the fuel system

K&N oiled-type filters are notorious for depositing crap onto the MAF and screwing up performance.
Try cleaning the MAF yourself, with MAF cleaner (NOT TB cleaner or other solvent).
If that doesn't work, (and if this were my truck), I'd get rid of the K&N (go back to stock), then REPLACE the MAF.

Cleaned MAF twice in 3 days hesitation / bog still exists , not the MAF

On my K&N CAI the filter is very lightly fogged with K&N filter oil . You could say the filter is dry as its the same amount of oil that the filter comes from the mfg . So again oil is not soaking or contaminating the MAF at all

It's currently at the dealer having it checked and left previous work orders showing work done and parts replaced or repaired so new parts such as fuel filters aren't changed out

Well, it might be too late for another WAG (wild-ass-guess), but a faulty TPS could be the issue.
I believe there is an easy check for that . . . verifying that its resistance changes smoothly, while rotating the throttle bell crank.

Had the dealer check my truck out the other day and they couldn't find any problems with the 4 cylinder engine . They did a 3 page comprehensive diagnostic health report which included checking all parameters of the computer and all the sensors . Also checked compression and coil output

Nothing was found to be out of spec and the two master techs that were working on it each drove it and couldn't replicate the problem . The only thing they did mention was to tall of tire which are 265/75 -16 and stock size is 225/75 -16 . I told them the door sticker shows 4.56 gears and they said I need to re gear it

Today I was driving it around and had the ECT on tow/ haul mode and it was bogging /hesitation on acceleration . Turned off the ECT back to normal mode and bog / hesitation disappeared !!!

I think the transmission maybe the problem but at the 60k service when they did the transmission flush the fluid looked clean and no signs of mechanical damage

I know there's a "lazy downshift " issue with these auto trans and having to take slack out of the kick down cable to fix the problem . I'm going to have a friend of mine who's a transmission tech adjust the kick down cable and hopefully the transmission will work better
