For sure man. Comfort is certainly a top priority. I just couldn't buy a vehicle if I wasn't 100% happy with the looks etc..

I agree, it's like this androgynous type of transportation everything is going to. There's so little variation in modern automotive engineering that it makes things far less interesting an fun.

I was an early adopter and had a 2007 Ridgeline, which I loved and drove happily for 125,000 miles. I never understood why so many people panned them - I think Honda was forced to cave to pressure to make the new one look more like a typical truck, but the only downside I could see was that the angled bed made it hard to find a cap or tonneau. We love our current Tacoma, but as a tall guy, the Ridgeline was roomier and more comfortable - and quieter.

I test drove the RTL-E AWD today.

    The Positives:
First impression.... super quiet inside cabin during the drive and hard acceleration, very quick off the line compared to my Tacoma. Passing power is superb and the suspension soaks up all of the cruddy and broken roads we call LA  The fit and finish is A+, Great to see and use the power seats and dual climate control, has great braking power thanks to the disc brakes in the front and rear  The rear bed speaker is cool. Love the dual action tail gate, locking bed trunk, fold up rear seats, and ease of use for the touch screen radio and nav. It sits a little lower then my Tacoma...hence easier for petite ladies and men  to get in  Love how it handles around the corners thanks to the torque vectoring AWD setup  Love the color of the white they have: Pearl white compared to the boring and stale super white Toyota has for the Tacoma.

The Negatives: It does sits lower so the ground clearance is limited for off road, I hate the shallow bed and how limited the rear doors open up... C'mon Honda what's so hard to not extend it a few inches so everyone could make use of the space you guys brag about in the rear seats when you fold them up  Outrageous price for this RTL-E AWD $42K+

Overall I'm impressed with the Ridgeline and I believe Honda did a very good job with the 2nd gen. I'm tempted to buy one but not til 2018 or 2019 instead of the first year production models. Hopefully they will fix the minor issues I posted above when they do the mid model year refresh  As someone who actually uses their truck as a truck for work, I'm in construction so I haul and tow things all day long and I firmly believe it can do the same job for me. Now I'm planning to keep my Tacoma as long as I can, I plan to buy another vehicle to add to the family either the 2nd gen Ridgeline or F150 Crew Cab 3.5L Ecoboost for the weekends to use for the family

I've had my eye on the F150 for a while. Curious if you've driven one and how you would compare it to the new Ridgeline in regards to ride comfort and interior roominess? I plan to keep my Tacoma but strictly for summer beach runs and the occasional fireroad adventure. My wife already has an SUV and I prefer a truck bed to haul all my shiz. I really need something more comfortable (and with better gas milage) for the growing family and long road trips.

I was between a Tacoma and a Ridgeline. I ultimately purchased the Tacoma but there are definite positives to the Ridgeline. The Second gen anyway. The first gen is just way too ugly.

Full disclosure I have had 2 civics, a CRV, a CRX, and a Pilot. We are a Honda family. It was a close decision. The wife really wanted a 4Runner so that tipped the scales a little for me.

Night and day difference when comparing the F150 and the Ridgeline. It's like comparing a mid size Camry to a sub compact Corolla  The F150 with Ecoboost is a blast to drive! Very fast and so much torque off the line to the redline  I can't wait to drive the all new 3.5L Ecoboost with the 10 spd Auto transmission  That being said the size of full size truck kinda bothers me sometimes when I have to find parking or go through small streets or trails. Either way both the F150 and Ridgeline are great vehicles for anyone and it is comparing apples to oranges though.

On the one hand, I'm looking for a roomier mid-size pickup, with better on-road manners and gas mileage than the Tacoma. But on the other, if I have to spend $40K then why not go all the way and get an even more roomier full size, especially since the gas mileage will still be better than the Tacoma- not to mention everything else that's better about a full size.

Buuut, I love the Tacoma and its rugged handsomeness. Maybe gas mileage will improve in the next two years...
