I am going to be towing with my 02 TRD V6 about 4 hours away and then back. I've never towed long distance with these trucks before. Any advice? I changed the engine coolant, manual trans fluid, rear diff fluid and brakes checked in prep for this. Anything else I should look over?

Invest in a transmission cooler...they are pretty cheap insurance. Depends on how much weight you plan on towing also.

I thought those were mainly for auto transmissions? At least that's what I gathered from my research. It is a small utility trailer with a couch and a bed on it. So not incredibly heavy.

    Manual tranny should be ok.

Sounds like you are prepping correctly with your routine maintenance.

Of course make sure you have the right sized ball and correct trailer lighting connection.

Check the grease on your trailers wheel bearings.

American fork UT. The biggest hill on the way there is the Malad Summit. It's 80 MPH all the way too. The truck will have 4 people and their stuff as well. I have been over the Teton pass once on the way to Colorado. That is not a fun road even when I'm not towing something.

I have an enclosed trailer that has a double axle that I pull with electric brakes. My trailer is 7 feet tall and my biggest problem was my gas mileage was only 10-12 miles per gallon, so can't go to far on a tank.
