Tierod ends and ball joint replacement

    Working on a 95 4 wheel drive that has suffered a lot of road cancer from Iowa winters. Has anyone tried the GSE brand of tierod and ball joints from Ebay?

    The passenger side tierod has a regular nut on it that I am thinking will have to cut off. Been trying to break it loose with my 24" snapon breaker bar and electric impact. So far hasn't budged a bit. Found top ball joint has NO cotter key as well.This truck is turning out to be quite the adventure.

    Top shock mount passenger side rear had rusted and broke out. Patched it up as is way past the cut off for replacement though has less then 200,000 mile on her.

    Most people say go for OEM ball joints due to their build quality. I'm not sure exactly what it is that makes them better but a member here cut one in half to compare it to other manufactures and concluded that OEM was worth the price for the quality.

    Go OEM. This is one of those parts you do NOT want to cheap out on.

    Our trucks have a strange design. They literally hang from the lower ball joint rather than rest on the lower ball joint. My father and I are replacing our lbjs with OEMs this fall as preventative maintenance. I probably will go moog on the other parts.

    ...we'll get there.
    I picked up Moog inner and outer tie rods for my 02, very happy with the quality. haven't had to do ball joints yet, so can't speak to that...

    cxr turbo, fic6, methanol injection, king coilovers, jba uca, skyjacker leafs, rear 12" 5125s, no-slip rear locker, 35" grabber x3, magnaflow muffler, retrofit headlights, trans cooler, bed lined exterior, etc...
    Known as a nonfailsafe design. Once it fails your done for.

    Ive been using moog lbs for a couple years now with no issues.

    I still recommend oem though.

    Pretty much stock right now
    I went moog for the TREs, but if and when the LBJs need replacement, will probably go OEM.
