Ups shipping claims??

You don't think high heat paint is needed? That looks so good I'm probably gonna paint it haha

 

Yes, better safe than sorry, would be a pain to strip off if the paint started to peel from heat.

 

Well this has been a nightmare! They had the box and I took pictures of everything and even the box certs. Box was rated to 95lbs my shipment was 42. Then they denied me because the box was "old"

Well you filed for 3000.00 not the repair of 200.00. If you filed for 200.00 for the repair you probably
would have gotten it. As I said before they come up with any excuse, but again you can't just bubble wrap the charger, that's not enough protection for that heavy of an item, if it was in foam it wouldn't matter if the box got damaged. That bubble you used will not protect anything and for a double box you need 4" between boxes with protection

 

I changed it to file for the repair after you first replied in this thread

 

They didn't even care about the bubble wrap. The supercharger only weighs like 30 ish lbs. they didn't say anything when I bought the bubble wrap from them

 

I ship all day long for my busses and they come up with any reason to decline the claims.
You have to pack any item like its a piece of China with 3 layers of thick bubble and then peanuts if it's
a light item, A heavy item needs foam and lots of layers atleast 4 " around all parts

 

Just got off the phone and they said there was no issue with the packing material. Waiting on what they say about the double box

 

Well what I'm saying is it doent matter what they say about packing, If it was packed with
foam and wrapped 4 times or even the thick thick bubble and wrapped 4 times, guaranteed it would
not get damaged. The box will not protect the item if it's not wrapped enough with padding.
Anyway what's done is done, just get it fixed and off to the races.

 

Yeah it's just crazy that they abused it that much. None of the bubbles are even popped. Still waiting to hear back lol

 

Ups uses a 3rd party to handle claims. Ups stores are privately owned and typically will not deal with claims because of being middle men. I've worked for ups for 23 years. The size of the pkgs have gone from letters to mattresses. We deliver anything you can order on the Internet. The building I work out of does 100-120k pkgs a day. Most of this is heavy pkgs: furniture, refrigerators, bo flex machines, air compressors, off road bumpers.......... So bottom line pack it like its bullet proof. Anything can happen in transit. Lots of people touch it along the way. And the proper term they use is : insufficient packaging. Ups pays them good$ to deny whatever they can.

 

The ups store has actually been very helpful. I have had to send like 1000 pictures of everything.

 

That's a plus. If they deny, you should get your charger back. They are supposed to return to sender after inspection ( which should be at your local hub ). Good luck.

 

Funny thing is they never even sent a inspector
