We chose 1/8 " for the face to reduce weight and keep it around 75lbs. If we went to a 3/16 plate there it would bump us up to nearly 90lbs, which I think is too much for this bumper. Like I said though, 100's of folks have been abusing these bumpers for a couple years now all over the world and I havent heard a single person tell me they wished it was thicker plate and heavier. We add bracing throughout the center of the structure to absorb hits on rocks, etc., but the little winglets are for aesthetics. Im not too terribly concerned that it bent slightly considering that particuarly section isnt structural.

Sorry for the delay in answering this.
Cutting of the front bumper is required. Need a Drimmel or similar tool.
    Compatible with stock skid plates
Don't have any pics of black on black
The installation doc is being created now. You can look at the 4Runner installation....the Tacoma install will be very similar.

I mean I would happily try it out with my RCI skids and if it fits I will send high res photos and if if it doesn't, info on how to modify and photos. For a nice discount of course :)

I have a question about the airbags. You mentioned that they didn't deploy, but does your bumper in any way prevent them from deploying in a crash? I guess I'm asking if they would deploy the same, at the same speeds, as the same model truck without your bumper.

Does anyone have experience failing an insurance claim with an aftermarket bumper like this? 99% of my driving is on road, and if I ever hit a pedestrian, I would imagine the insurance would use an aftermarket non DOT approved bumper as an out. Valid concern?

Yes they will deploy when they should. The air bag sensors are actually mounted on the body of the truck which is isolated by the rubber body mounts from the frame. It takes a VERY large force to engage those sensors, as it should. None of the other vehicles airbags deployed in this wreck either, which they shoudnt have. If an airbag would have deployed at this speed, we would have been injured from the air bag force itself.

Bummer, looks like TW10 is no longer valid. Was yesterday before you answered.

Nevermind, my dumbass didn't do it right. I added a winch to the shopping cart as well and then it didn't take the code. I got it now, thanks!

Yes, sorry the winches are not part of the discount. If you need a winch a second order can be placed.
