So what exactly does it add but some Fox shocks to make it cost 40k plus?

That's been gone over A LOT even just in this thread lol. The shocks, trd exhaust, leather, and then a bunch of mostly aesthetic mods.....aaaaand that awesome/exclusive cement gray paint!

I do love that color, but I just don't see the worth in mostly aesthetic upgrades. But I'm not taking in the money like some probably are.

Right. I don't really see this truck for people who do utilize their tacoma much off pavement. I have a good feeling *if you can get a good deal* this wont be too much more than a decked out TRD OR. Any mark up over MSRP is going to kill that though. It's for people who wanna buy a new truck that's slightly modded and leave it alone. This will be my DD, so it won't get any mods besides window tint, etc.

my dealer wants me to commit to buying a pro sight unseen, says if i dont, ill miss out, says they are getting 2 ,and one is already spoken for, i just cant commit unless i see it in person, and test drive it ,, so maybe ill be keeping my Black Pro,,, time will tell...

What do they mean by "commit?" I wouldn't put a nonrefundable deposit down or anything. And you can't negotiate a price if they can't tell you what it costs, right? So tell them hat you "commit" to purchase it if y'all can make a deal when it gets here. Otherwise, rcsb jon is right...there are other dealerships.

Dealers are just trying to manipulate buyers as much as they can...

...after a few months PROs will be sitting on lots, just as the 2nd gen PROs were, looking for buyers

My sales rep in VA indicated the deposit is "nonrefundable." I initially balked since the price is unconfirmed. He then said quietly that there is no way they can enforce that, so if you throw down cash to reserve it and then decide it's more than you're willing to pay or whatever, you will be able to get out of it. For all of the reasons (sight unseen, no price confirmation, etc.), the dealership cannot just take your money like that.

My dealer who's a good business person told me allocation is dependent on firm orders. I have no reason to doubt their reasoning.

But, rest assured if you're in a taco now, the Pro will be a stunner and you could likely get out of it with no blood should you change your mind.

    After all, it's just money.

I was looking a new Scion at the Toyota dealership over the weekend and it was "Cement". Window sticker said it and everything.
However there was a slight bit of pearl/metallic in the paint. I was under the impression that the Cement color the Pro's are getting is an opaque color with no pearl or metallic in it (kinda like how cars in the '50's were painted). Is the Cement color on the Scion I saw the same as what the Pro's get? It looked great. Was lighter than I expected, I've seen a few FJ's and other Scions on the road in Cement and I thought they looked darker. They might not have been Cement for all I know, maybe a different Toyota color.

I think you mean solid color, kinda like how some have described it as "primer with clearcoat." That's what I was thinking too but that would be cool if it had that little bit of pearl or metallic to it. As far as it being a little lighter than you expected, check this pic out I found online. It kinda surprised me bc this looks lighter than any other photos I've seen of it.

Yeah that was the color of the Scion I saw. Looked almost white, with just a tiny bit of gray and a little bit of pearl mixed into the paint.
Very different from the dark, opaque gray Cement FJ's I've seen on the road. No way that's the same color. They must have changed the mix a little. I'd go check out a '16 Scion to see what our '17 Pro's are gonna look like.

That def looks darker than any pics I've seen of the new tacoma trd pro. I have seen the Cement gray Scion tc's from a distance and loved the color, but haven't been up super close to check one out. Can't with till mine comes in and I can put a ceramic coating and xpel clear bra on that slick gray paint!!!!

These pics show how light the cement color is.

    "She's into malakas, Dino."

It's light with high level artificial light (auto show).

The truck will have a totally different appearance in differnt lighting and angles.

The pics are just a snapshot.

Would have been nice if the TRD logo was embodied in the rear panels like the tundra is.

Keep in mind that these pics are not of actual production models. The actual production models may have a few tweeks before they are released.
