    Nice work.
I spent 5 years living off- Grid in a cabin I built 90% myself. Didn't get heat until mid December the first year. This is in MN.
Water is always the biggest issue. Clean sources, keeping it from freezing, hauling...

Enjoy it as much as possible, take the time to really appreciate the freedom you have. Don't sweat the details too much.

Looks like you are focusing on the right things.

Too cool, that is my next idea once i finish school and find work, hopefully with the forest service or something outdoors, is to build a cabin on some land and keep it just as simple as this truck. Do you happen to have any photos of the cabin, would love to see them if ya do!

Pitch black out tonight in the driveway, gave the LED interior lights a test... these strip LED's surprised the hell out of me.

Going to eventually put a strip across the back window so it will light up camp and the tail gate even more, i just need to order the water proof kind this time.

everything is wired up now. But i will end up rewiring things as I do want to get the proper size wire for everything later as im WAY over sized for most of the components and its bulky.

I need to make a rigid pickup tube inside the water jug as the hose that i used kept its coil from the reel it was cut from and kept creeping up out of the water and sucking air. I think i will figure out a quick connect setup some how so i could also attach a longer hose to a filter and toss it in a river for longer showers without worry of depleting my water

Went ahead and pulled the trigger on the rear suspension from @allpro , Expedition leafs, 5125's, Ubolt flip, F&R brake lines, timberens.. the leafs are out of stock so there is a short wait on those, but it will be worth it in the end.

Ordering some Built Right UCA's tomorrow and ill be set.

Went ahead and pulled the trigger on some OME 886 coils for my 5100s, I figure this will handle the added weight a bit more when the truck starts bouncing around off road. Especially when i add on skid plates next year, because after these suspension upgrades and new tires around November, I will be tapped out of truck funds and back to saving for other things.

Sway bar will be removed when the lift goes on so if anyone needs stock suspension, i will have stock base model coil assembly, stock 2+1 leafs and base model black shocks as well as the TRD Bilstiens which i had from another tacoma. would sell it all extra cheap (im in colorado)

Dude these camp spots are sweet! Glad to see the truck will be going places! How long do you plan to be off grid for?

Super smart idea that I am going to steal soon!

OP we need to see that lift installed and you should look into a roof rack to help with storage, an awning, and camp lights

I've already done 6-7 weeks in the old setup, with the new setup i will be off grid until next summer, Winter will be interesting as im not sure what spots are open/accessible to camp but ill make it work. I'm heading back up the mountains this Sunday after adjusting to the altitude in Denver since i came from sea level again.

Ha yeah i will likely tinker with the lift stuff in stages since i have a month or so until the leaf springs ship out. Get all the brake lines swapped in, Assemble the 5100/886 combo, UCA's, then when the leafs get in swap in the front 5100/886 and rear end.

Im going to build a roof rack to hold at least a 100w solar panel, might put it on an actuator so i can tilt it up at an angle to get the most light. at that time id slap on a 6ft awning on the rack to cover the passenger side of the cab.
Might look into a pelican type case to bolt on the roof rack to store snow shoes, trekking poles and gear like that just to open up space in the slide out. But that is a long ways away as i need a break from big projects and actually get out and enjoy natures and explore.

This is a rad build! Keep up the great work and ingenuity!

The red LEDs will maintain your vision at night. Use them more and in a headlamp. Given the fact you camp in the middle of nowhere, your vision is critical!

    Looking forward to your updates!
