    I will start this the same way the Safari snorkel how to was started.
    First- get over the fact that you are about to drill a big ass hole in your fender.
    After you take a big breath and suck it up put painters tape on the fender and cut out the template. Line it up and tape it in place.

    I used a razor blade and cut the + marks (where to drill)so I can mark the spots with a pencil. I then double and triple checked.

    Then I center punched the big hole and drilled it out with a 105mm/4 1/8inch hole saw.
    DO NOT DRILL THE OTHER HOLES YET!!!

    Now put the studs in the snorkel. I put some grease on the ends of the studs and lined it up and put the snorkel in position marking the tape with the grease from the studs. I found that the marks were way off on all but one of the studs. I did this three times making sure it was right. Then I center punched the spots and drilled.

    I then cut the metal support that is behind the big hole to make room for the tubing behind the fender. I went in through the hole for the top of it and under the fender to get to the bottom of the bracket.

    Then I test fit everything. The elbow wouldn't fit in the stock intake hole so I used a heat gun on the elbow with the clamp around it. Heat a little, tighten, heat, tighten, etc. until it fits.



    I also cut off a piece of the stock filter tube

    I then took it back off and started installing it for real. I sealed the studs and installed the snorkel body on the fender then the washers and nuts on the studs. The top most stud nearest to the door sucks. I put tape on the washer to hold it in place then loosened the top bolts that hold the fender on to make a little more room. I then used a ratcheting wrench to get the nut started. After that I got all the elbows and tubes connected and sealed then tightened the clamps.


    For the A pillar I used military grade Velcro (there's no fuzzy side) to Secure the bracket to the A pillar

    Then put the scoop on and drink a beer.

    No mention of cutting off the old intake curve. Did they change the design so its no longer required?

    I never thought about velcro for the a pillar I just used some 1" self toppers and filled the holes full of silicone

    It look the same under the hood. No change other than I took off my AFE cold air intake and put back on the stock one.

    I think it's great. The Safari is a little smaller than the AirFlow so in theory it provides more air. It's a quality product, if I were to do it again I would go with the AirFlow again. Well worth it and it's a little cheaper than Safari.

    Thanks for the reply but the Safari (new 05-15 Taco specific) is not smaller than the Airflow...
    I am just concerned, from things I have read, that the Airflow is not made as well as the Safari and that worries me. I think the Airflow looks MUCH better than the Safari though!

    Installing now..question... 10mm drill holes seems kinda large...?? I know it will have some adjustments but... Did you drill with 3/8"?

    I used a step up bit until the studs fit. Should be around 3/8 or so.
