Just started an instagram for the truck... we'll see how it goes. Still not sure if I'll keep it or not. Check it out at: L3Goullon_Tacoma

Seriously one of the best finds I've had in a long time... Two Hardigg cases - one for recovery gear (pictured below), and one for camping/cooking gear. These things are solid, weather proof and sealed. Even the pressure valves still work when going up or down in elevation! If anyone is interested in these sort of cases let me know... I can probably help you get some for a very good deal. Might be trying to find one more for myself in the meantime.

That's my favorite sticker as well.. lol

what size are those cases? I have a Plano (yet to mount on the roof rack) for tools and gear, but want a larger box type case or packer for camp cook/gear.

    Rough guesses...

    Camping: 36 long x 20 deep x 16 tall
    Recovery: 32 long x 16 deep x 18 tall

I especially like them because they hinge open and are just short enough to open underneath my tent while in the truck bed.

hmmm ok. Im still thinking of grabbing a DEE-ZEE box. I found the one I want, and its perfect size. just getting it in and out of the truck might be somewhat an issue.

Those look nice! If it's a cost thing... I'm sure your dee-zee and the cases I could probably find for you are roughly the same cost. I know my recovery gear box is definitely on the verge of being too heavy to easily move on my own. It's not so much the box, but the contents. What is nice though is there are 6 handles on the box - 2 on the front and back sides and 1 on each end. Got lucky with that. Should I need to add more supplies to it I might find a HD bag to put in there so I can easily take it out before moving the whole box when needed. We'll see...

Its more so the size. Ill see if I can find a link for the one I'm referring to. Was thinking of just adding a rope handle so I can grab it and pull it towards the tailgate. Maybe some rollers/casters on it too. Like a slide and storage box mixed.

Very nice build Bill! Like most have already said in here, I love the bedrack/tiregate combo. It looks solid and definitely seems to incorporate all the necessary improvements that I needed for my old setup on the taco. I'd definitely like to check it out someday and see the clearance between it and the tail light. I missed my tail gate but like you said, once you get a drop down table from the tiregate, you'll never look back

Hey thanks Stefan! Was a big fan of your previous build even know I never took part on the forums... Maybe one day soon our paths will cross. In the meantime I'll try to remember to get a couple quick pics of the tailgate vs taillight clearance. You arn't the only person to ask. And yes, I'm excited for the table. Should have it done over the weekend. Fingers crossed.

    Thanks!

    Thanks! John is the man.

How did he attach the rack to the composite bed? Or did he go through to the frame?

The rack is sort of a hybrid system. It connects with the bed rails running parallel on either side for the front 3/4s of the rack. The back 1/4 cuts inward and connects to and the rear bed bolts to help stabilize the swing out system.

Added these babies to the tent today... While it's a bit of a pain to get the strap through the buckle it holds everything snug much better than the plastic clips. Still needs some tweaking.
