So I'm not going to worry about adjusting the fronts down or shimming the back up. First thought actually was to take some thick barstock and basically make myself a spacer lift in the back. I'll give it a few weeks and see how it settles. In the meantime, guess I should adjust my headlight aim down a bit. maybe

Guess they changed the grills at some point.
Mine has 2 screws and 2 pins up top. The bottom just had tabs that stuck out and went into slots on the OEM bumper cover. The only push pins down there were for holding the bumper cover.
I had an epiphany though and the grill is all good now. Made myself a pair of brackets. My grill has a bunch of torx screws that hold the surround trim piece to the main grill piece. One of those screws is right in front of a hole where one of those push pins was holding the bumper cover. I just bent up some metal banding to use in one of those screws and put a pin in the original location at each side along the bottom of the grill.

 

My grill is mounted the same way (2 screws and 2 pop clips in the top then clips in the bottom) and I've been told to use zip ties once I get my plate front bumper as well but if your trick is pretty quick I might just have to do this instead. Would you be able to take pics of what you did?

 

pics looking down. I did this at both sides. The "banding" metal is cheap and can bend by hand. Had to drill out one of the existing holes in the banding to fit the oem plastic push pin through. The blue is just some vinyl tape I put on to cover the sharp edges.

 

This is the worst alignment ever. Seriously about to redo it myself. ....well, I'll be doing it sometime soon myself. Replacing my front door and frame/threshold this weekend along with whatever else she can throw at me.

 

Hahaha changed your mind huh? It's that toe. Toe effects alignments drastically. For example, we run about .4 degrees of positive toe in the rear of the supra to help with turn in and it made a HUGE difference in the stability of the car while sideways compared to 0 toe. Also your truck probably pulls to the right as you should set the right side caster slightly higher then the left side to accommodate for road crown. But I'd say your camber numbers are good for the amount of lift you are running, unless of course you only drive straight on the highway then you will def get some tire wear

They do everything from race cars to over the road semi's. They will get it right. They have a shop on Poplar Level Road on the southeastern corner of Louisville that would be even closer for you. I don't have the link to that shop though.

I'm not hatin on you. Some people enjoy that stuff. I don't enjoy waking up at 4 am then driving 3 1/2 hours to offroad for 8 hrs then drive 3 1/2 hours back just to be tired as fuck. I'd much rather relax afterwards.

 

I'll be working on getting the link to the Poplar Level Road shop. It's right down the street from Moab Off Road....You can swing by there and hang with the Jeep crowd....They don't like Toyota's BTW.

Yeah I wouldn't be that concerned with the camber. I've been running positive camber for a long time now and can't tell outer wear on my tires. Also the more negative your camber numbers, the more negative your caster numbers. If you have 35s, you HAVE to have the caster numbers.

 

BTW, I got a few "opinions" from people who've done the exact same lift as I'm running as to their "perfect specs" for an alignment....It was a good bit different than the "factory specs" for a 2nd gen. I ended up with right at 2.9 degrees of caster. Toe is @ 0 IIRC. The truck almost drives itself. 22,000 miles in on my Duratracs and they measure less that 2/64th of wear. I do keep 'em rotated and have rebalanced @ 20,000, but that shows almost NO wear for that type of tire.

 

Someone who doesn't offroad on rocks. Most trips where we ride, I'm fuckin wore out by the end of the day from being beaten by rocks all day

 

Hell....I'd sleep in a ditch or under a highway overpass before driving all the way to and from a trail run if it wasn't for having 3 dogs and 5 birds to take care of. Harlan is looking to be a "boys night out" this October....Sandy might be staying home and an old friend will be riding with me. Might turn that into a 4 or 5 day drunk-a-thon!

 

Harlan is definitely not a day trip either, I have my own drunk-a-thing here at the house lol

 

I'd take rocks and hills ANY day.....And I'm old enough to be your dad, maybe even your grandfather.....And I manage to keep it together after a long day on the trails....

Last trip to Harlan was 5+ hours there, 9 hours on the trail, then 5+ hours home, THEN I washed my truck before I went to bed, THEN got up @ 4AM to go to work.
