My outside temperature display in the dash is always ~4 degrees off. It reads too hot pretty much always compared to my phone app. I trust the phone app because I have two that are always the same.
    Anyone else see this?

Where is your phone app recording it's temperature from? If it's a weather app It's probably getting the info from a local weather station which may not be the exact temp of your truck's location.

I'm not sure where the temp sensor on the truck is to get it's temperature but it's possible to see a difference based on source. Best bet is to get a digital temp sensor and compare readings around the truck.

Yeah, I'll do some more comparisons but I watch the local weather forecasts and pretty much know within a few degrees what it should be. Like right now weather.com says 87 and I'm leaving work now and I bet when I get in it will read 92.

Weather.com is pulling temp data from a nearby weather station under more controlled conditions. Your truck is likely sitting on hot pavement that is conducting that heat to the air you're driving through pulling the temp up. They're probably both right.

I say screw the app and weather station data. Your truck is telling you the temp right where you are which is going to be more accurate.

Also since I'm here I'm going to plug wunderground.com, far superior weather site that doesn't pummel you with constant ads and BS clickbait articles.

I trust my phone because the other phone reads the same thing

    LOL
    can't make this up

protip, there is no temp sensor in your phone, other than
for the CPU/battery to shut down before it melts down

I have the same problem OP. Whenever I drive by a bank or somewhere else that has the temperature on their sign my truck always shows about 10 degrees higher.

Stop comparing the truck reading to other devices. Compare it to itself at different times only.

Some times after my truck has been sitting all day and I start it up it will be like 80 degrees and then I start driving and it drops way down I think I have a lemon as well. Some times its sunny in my back yard and raining in the front.

You can cross the street and get a difference of 5 degrees in actual temperature. Nothing to worry about.

All joking aside its designed to be a reference not an absolute. All temps/thermometers will vary depending on location you could have two identical vehicles sitting right next to each other and have to different readings.

mats, flaps, and stickers. Extang solid fold 2.0. Mobtown sliders and full skids. AVS vents
It's a characteristic of the truck, nothing wrong.
