Got my leaf packs installed yesterday. As of right now it's sitting half an inch lower in the back, but I feel like it's going to settle down some more..

Here are some pictures of my new springs. They are completely flat to the point of a slight negative arch. My shocks are compressed about an inch or more than they were pre-recall install. The picture of the tires shows fender height before (dirty) and after (clean) install of recall leaf springs. It easily sits an inch and a half lower in the back.

Mine also seem to be flat or also have a bit of negative arch

Im pretty the time varies by state, however, down in Texas, it took them a solid month and a half from Inspection to Install

I had the same experience when I picked up my truck after the leaf spring recall. I did a little checking around and found out that if you had the 4 leaf TSB springs installed for the "harsh ride" condition when hauling any kind of weight then you should get a different set of springs. I am having this done. The dealership ordered the springs and told me they should be in, in about 4 weeks. I've attached a pdf of the version of the recall letter that the dealership gets. Check the red text on page three for an explaination of what I'm refering to.

Did you have the TSB springs installed on your truck before the recall springs were installed?

The TSB, recall springs should get the truck level again. That's what I'm trying for at least.

WOW, I think I might check mine too, but think the nuts would have vibrated off by now. Sad that high paid technicians would not have the knowledge to double check them or the procedures that tells them to recheck torque on each nut. Makes me leery about them tightening my lug nuts now too.......sad. :(

Yea I called them and they told me to come back soon they can tighten them. I already torqued them down and I'll be driving around today and re-torque this evening. Definitely sketchy though, I'm off pavement more than most and this could have left someone stranded. On the plus side the AAL helped the ride height significantly

Just had mine replaced on my stock 07' DCSB Off-road. No change in height. Dealer took 5 weeks to get the replacement springs.

There is a noticeable improvement in ride.

Got inspected 29 May--called the dealer Friday--they have no clue when they will get parts to complete the recall. Stunning service, Toyota!

Thx for this post I had mine looked at again and now being changed. I had taken my truck to my local dealer and they ordered the parts. After 1 month, i called them and asked if the parts came. They said no and will contact me. Month and a half later, i called again. This time they said they dont get any parts and that head quarter control the the distribution. I called head quarter (Toyota) and got a case number. 2 days later dealer called and make an appointment for today. I came in today and when they were getting paper wok ready for the job, i mentioned i have 4-leaf springs. The SA stopped and went to talk to the foreman. He came back and said mine already had the updated springs. I told them it was done in 2009, plus the recall cover both 3 and 4 leaf springs. He didnt care and sent me my way. I didnt feel it was right and looked up and found this page. Decided to take my truck to another local dealer. Just one look and they kept the car for the recall work. The only thing is when i mentioned trucks with 4-leaf spring will need different part (34404 instead of 34304) the SA said they use the same part. Hopefully the tech will know better. What is the difference between them anyway? Anyone knows? I figure if the 34304 is good for all other trucks it should be ok for mine, too.

    Thx

Just got mine replaced.the dealership would not take my add-a-leaf and shim(I got the toytec bilstein addaleaf kit) that I put in 2 years ago and put it in the new leaf pack, but they said they'd give me the original pack and hardware. Picked up the truck and the new leaf pack is completely flat and I completely lost my lift. Kinda wish I had left the old rusty leaf pack in... now I'm debating on buying a dakar leaf pack to get my lift back and try to sell this new POS tacoma leaf pack while it is still brand new

Man, with all these stories of losing height with the replacement leafs, I don't think I'm gonna do the recall. Maybe just wait till my leafs break and then have them replace them free. Lol.

I am just currious as many mentioned they hate the new recall springs and wish they kept the tsb springs. They are both 4 leaf, why tsb springs are better? I have/had tsb springs and recall springs are being installed so i am a bit concerned.

It seems most complaints came from people who had aal?

    Thx
