^ In the 9 years I've had my truck I've yet to replace it. Shook off some dust/debris a few times.. that it.. I installed a pre filter in the intake box under the cowling... keeps most crap from ever getting to the oem filter. As far as the actual cabin "air" goes i honestly can't tell any difference from the day I bought it... just saying.

I suggest staying clear of the supposed upgrade of a charcoal filter, I hated that thing. It made the car smell musty. The $7 eBay filters work just fine, I buy them a few at a time.

There's a DIY thread somewhere on making your own reusable cabin filter for less than $20 using a HVAC kit from Home Depot.

This was my filter after a year. I spend about 90% on my time on pavement with the balance on gravel or farm roads. I replaced with an OEM filter for about 10 bucks.

You can get OEM from the dealer for a couple of dollars more.

When I tried one, it actually blocked some of the airflow coming through my vents. Regular air filters are good enough.
