Just curious to see if anyone has pushed it and what the outcome was.

I'm sure you can do more than spec and outcome might not show up until later on. depends how often you abuse it and how hard. :benchpress:

Let's say someone hypothetically had 1,400lbs of hardwood in the bed and two passengers and drove 10 miles.

Could someone in that situation have harmed their truck or could It handle that weight for quick trips

It should be fine. I had a pallet of cement 1600lbs in the bed of my frontier once. drove him slow with my buddy back from Home Depot. It was pretty much bottomed out but we made it ok. Only a 5 mile trip. Forget what the capacity of my f150 is but had about 2000 lbs of busted up concrete in the bed of that. Although I'd be more worried in a Tacoma than my f150 my frontier held up ok. Biggest concern would be the springs.

What the dealer don't know won't hurt them. If one set of springs goes they will have a hard time saying you abused it. But If both go then we'll that's a little harder to explain lol

I've seen ppl do worst that that to tacos, and still they keep going. A buddy of mine is part time contractor, has an old 1st gen he uses for chit hauling with 375k I think it's '92.
I would never do that to mine or recommend it, If it can be helped, but sometimes you do what you need to do to survive that day :/

    Cheers!

Shit I've hauled a 1/2 ton of wood pellets in my wife's Prius over 15 miles, the Tacoma should take some abuse, lol.
