    Pros and cons.

    Pros
    Looks good under the hood
    Sounds cool
    Reusable airfilter (bonus for being stingy while in school)
    Cons
    Useless in terms of added hp
    Noise it makes could get annoying

    Yeah I'm sure it gets like... 6hp, but whatever I bought it in 2014 before I knew anything. The reason I want to switch it is because the air pump makes a loud whistling noise that wasn't there before I installed it, probably broken, kind of annoying,everyone talks shit about CAI's on here so I thought maybe I should switch back but I like hearing the clicking of the valves + the roar on the highway.

    I'll just tell myself that I'll hook it up to a snorkel one day

    Makes sense too since its in front of the radiator where air is actually being pushed

    Ah the man, the myth! Mines a Volant w/ the scoop and I can see the gains on the dynos on your page. Still trying to figure out what I want to do here...
    I replaced it with the stock one expermentally for a full tank to see if there's a difference and I can say for sure...how do I explain this, when your in a vehicle you learn what angle your foot has to be at to go a certain speed, since the swap I've been 2-3 mph lower than what I would expect

    You could probably find a small sheet of abs plastic online somewhere and make that yourself for 1/4 of the price. I would imagine all you would need is a drill (for plastic clips) and a razor blade (to cut hood latch access)

    Never can the blanket statement work about a CAI not provide any improvements. It always depends on how much better the design is over a stock component. There might be other trade-offs which an owner might not like over the factory system, which would be wise to consider prior to making a change. At the end of the do your research, and decipher the factiods from opinionoids.

    Thanks for the correction! Just out of curiosity what designs are better over stock? Especially for low end gains. My truck is a turd in the low end. With that is there anything an intake would do to get the low end up so it quits hunting for gears all the time?

    That depends on what you are allowed to do per your desire to stay emissions friendly or not.

    This is my favorite intake. As it was originally the TRD intake, and is well proven.

    As far as low end grunt, I cannot remember where in the rpm range that it makes its most significant gains over stock, without looking through the link in my sig. I compiled those charts long ago.

    Aside from some people's complaints about a buzzing noise from the URD Spec-U headers, those will increase power across the entire rpm range.
