I was poking around in the engine bay of my 2013 base model and I found this unconnected 2-pin connector on the bundle running in front of the battery. The wires coming out of it are red, and black w/ white stripe. Does anyone know what its purpose is and if it should be connected to something?

When it quits raining I'll check out my DC offroad. I know I also have a couple unused plugs and have everything except heated seats.

No MIL and I haven't noticed anything not working. As far as I know everything works.

In that last picture there's a small hole in the fender just under your finger (in front of the battery clamp)... on my truck it looks like that wire harness is connected to a aluminum box bolted to that hole. The box is about 3"x 3" and about 1" thick, says Denso and has ribs on the side that faces the battery... I have no clue wtf it is or does.

Interesting. Is there a part number on the box that is visible?

Does it make noise, or would it make someone piss their pants if you pulled up next to them and honked.
I'm racking my mind trying to remember what that module is infront of the battery. Though mine has a different style connector.

I think that is a connector for the outside temp probe....... I'll have to look at mine to be sure it's a probe connector.

    It's pretty loud.

That seems plausible, it's in the same bundle as some wires running up to the radiator (perhaps temperature probes for coolant temp, etc?).

    I don't have power locks.

I wasn't able to find anything. I'm sure it's not a huge issue, I was just curious about what it could be for.

could be your flux capacitor or your blinker fluid indicator. im not sure what model you bought. If its the off road model defiantly the flux capacitor.

Denso 23080-31010... sounds like some sort of resistor. The other numbers on it are: 196170-0550
