Here's the write up I used mainly for mine
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/bretts-average-build-thread.305098/page-28#post-12388470
It's pretty self explanatory but fror directions where wrong. The t I disconnected was on the driver side not passenger. Easy to do. Mainly just stretching lines and making giant messes with fluids thag ear away paint lol. Have to paint part of my frame again.

Yeah its a good write up. I've left everything in so far to make sure there's no leaks or problems but will rip it out once it's all good. Probably leave the return LiNE though

Yeah. After I catch up on maintence and the Rubicon I plan on going to disks. Spending a little to much on the truck right now haha.. but the swap will depend on what I need to do. Slander said to swap a fj80 axle in but not sure I want to do all that work again. Probably going to either order a kit or do ruff stuff weld on brackets and junkyard calipers and rotors or something.

If you want to go disks you can get calipers off a mustang GT from 93-03 (or whatever that body style ran) and then use a rotor from a Mitsubishi Montero from the late 90's too. You have to fab a bracket for the calper but it's straightforward and uses a mechanical ebrake

    Fj80, cheaper than a kit!

Nice rig! Love how modest the build is, on 35s with the Toy axle and tons of junkyard parts. More respectable to me than throwing a ton of money at something and having someone else do the work. Love how low it is. Good job!

Exactly what I needed. Bunch of mustangs at the jy so may get a set next time. How does the e brake run to the cab? Just a cable?

I've been watching for one! I've seen one pop up but it was drum brakes. :( if I find one for the right price, I'll probably do that. Maybe. Still have to regear and get a locker for it.

Thanks man! Was on a pretty limited budget (even though I still blew it and am still blowing it lol) and had certain things I wanted and think it turned out just right.

Yeah it's a cable pull. Not a plug abs play affair with the Toyota cable but a little creativity will do the trick on it

    Vegas TW Wheelers Pass Run
    08/07/2016

After the Vegas bs thread starting to get some activity and some guys talking about doing a run, we finally made it happen this weekend. We planned on doing Wheelers Pass starting on the Cold Creek side and ending on the Pahrump side. We set the meet time of 8 and rolled out by 8:20 to try and beat the heat as much as possible. There was a total of 4 trucks, 2 newer tacomas (@ericd and @beetlevegas), beetles buddy in a chevy and then me. We got on the road and made it to cold creek and quickly aired down and got on the trail. We crawled our way up the trail and made it to the top of the pass. No excitment on the way up which is always good and where greeted with cool weather and a lot of wind at the top. After some pictures and talking, we started the decent down to Pahrump which also included no real excitment and eventually made it to the campgrounds where Eric took off on another trail and the rest of us made our way to the highway. From there, I aired up and we each went our seperate ways. All in all, it was a good quick trail to get out of the heat and enjoy the truck rather than work on it. It was also nice to meet some of the guys on here and talk trucks lol. Looking foward to doing more trails and hopefully getting more guys to go and maybe do some harder trails as well.

And last but not least, I finally got a new camera lens and couldnt be happier with the new lens. I think some of the pictures turned out really good.

So knocking stuff off my list little by little. Depending on how much the pinion seal change comes too, may order a set of tube doors and am going to order some chromoly gears for the manual locking hubs for the ifs ones I have. Have a lot to get done before the Rubicon in a month. Blue is what I hope to finish before then.

But heres a picture of the bedside bars. Got the quick disconnect mud flap pieces cut, just have to weld them on as well as the sheet metal pieces to protect more of the body.

What a joy this truck has been lately... Nothing but problems and throwing money at it. Went to top off the tcase after the trail run on Sunday and what do you know, tranny fluid comes rushing out.. Again. Means the seal we just replaced, had failed. So that was monday, I had an appointment Tuesday to drop the truck off at a driveline shop around the corner to change the pinion seal to get rid of that leak so my dad dropped it off first thing since I was at work. They did it in less than an hour and my dad had the truck at home and in the garage ready to start changing the seal, AGAIN.

Since it was a 2 person job to get the tcase in and out, and my dad was going out of town Tuesday night, we decided to change the seal tuesday morning, before I had to go to job #2 at 1:30. Long story short, we redid everything in less than 3 hours besides oil (Removing skid, driveshafts, centerconsle and shifters, etc. and putting everything back on) which is pretty good in our book lol. We had just put a marlin eco seal in and it was a loose fit and the seal ended up getting pushed out of the hole and melted and seperated on the input shaft of the tcase. We cleaned everything super well and took extra care putting it in a new seal. We are pretty positive we got it this time and today I filled all the fluids and cruised around the neighborhood and so far so good. Will check it after work tomorrow.

Also almost done with the bed side bars. Passenger side plate is done and the driver side plate is bent and just needs to be tacked on after I trim the rear bumper a little. Those will be done once I get some 1/2 or 3/4 tubing to go around the outside of the plate and I drill the holes and weld on the quick release mud flaps. Still needs a ton of grinding and smoothing out but I think they turned out pretty good.

Rubicon is now a month away and hoping the tcase is good now. Need to finish the bedside bars, finish the box and battery box for the bed, get the swingout done and order replacement gears for the ifs hubs and the last thing is maybe get a set of tube doors from tg or 4x. Anybody wanna come help? hahaha

And last but not least, if seal holds tomorrow, going camping Friday to Saturday to forget about work and the all the troubles with this thing and enjoy it.

Hahah I kind of like the dimple die look and ive used it on lots of other stuff so just decided to keep with the idea. Let me know if you have any questions or need more pictures. All bolted on and have drug it across rocks and held the entire truck up multiple times lol.

Hopefully start on the swingout on Tuesday or Wednesday. Changed the orignal plan of how I was going to do it to just cutting the nub off the rear bumper and putting a piece of 2 in tubing there for the spindle to be welded into with a ton of traingle gussets and plate. Then the arm with the mounting plate.
