I ordered bare. When I got it it was powder coated. When I emailed them all I got was that was what was on the shelf so that's what we sent. When I suggested they make it stainless instead I basically got laughed at cause "we get about 10 1st gen mount orders a year, stainless isn't an option." Idk why they can't cut to order and make stainless an option. And when I told them how a CB needs a proper ground and how the powder coat will not allow the ground, all they said was use a lock washer.

I have heard that you can put tundra breaks on gen 1s. Can you give a list of parts that you have to get for the conversion ?

Yea there lots of people running tundra brakes on here and alot of other threads and forums have good info for writeups. The parts I have are as follows.
13WL calipers for a 2005 tundra as well as
Rotors and pads are all fit for same truck.
    https://www.amazon.com/FRONT-Calipers-Rotors-Ceramic-Performance/dp/B00EOBMFAY

-then I got wheelers offroad extended brake lines. Oem lines wont fit tundra calipers without modification. And a big thing to worry about is to make sure your rims have enough backspacing to clear the caliper.

If you don't want to spend the $40 on a BAMF mount this how I mounted mine, with the basic "3way mount" that came with my Coax cable and I bought a 90 degree bracket from home depot for about $1 and mounted it to the tailgate latch bracket.
It's held up to the 3,000 mile road trip I just went on with my firestik mounted.

That's a good call, Mike. My truck has been in pieces in the garage for a month now, and there's no way I could get away with that without a DD.

    Reserected from the dead.

Have you considered using roofing tar to seal that grommet?

We use roofing tar all the time to seal seams when rebuilding our Tacomas'. My last truck went 15 years and no leaks on the fire wall.
