Some shit I got on craigslist
Was really wishing I had one of these installed over the weekend. Digging out my factory receiver point was a pain in the ass. I may be hitting you up soon.

Sorry to see you got stuck like this, I too got stuck, exactly like this once and that is how the recovery bar was born. Digging under the front end to fish a strap through with a d ring suuuuuuuuuuuuucked.

    Hello,
I have been reading this thread for the past week. I was first looking at Undercover Hidden Winches which lead me to US Offroads version which I like more because you have to remove the lower valance. I actually like the look of the steel "valance" with the recovery points. It looks tough. But, I don't see the value of adding a winch up front for the offroading that I do. That eventually lead me to this product.

I have a couple of questions. The one bolt that is missing per side is where the OEM Aluminum bumper bolts too, correct? So this hidden receiver bolts up to the same 3 bolts that are attached to the chassis meaning, correct?

I just want to make sure since I may get a portable winch and I want to make sure that this item will be properly attached to the chassis.

    Thank you

That is correct. You remove the factory aluminum crash posts and unbolt the factory aluminum crash bar from the post. Then throw the post in the trash and bolt the factory aluminum crash bar to our recovery bar. Then bolt the recovery bar back over the studs that the factory aluminum crash post use to be bolted to.

I am interested in this product. According to your website it won't ship for a month. Is that still the case?

Not really. Just make note of which clips and screws go where as you remove the front bumper cover so you know where they go when reassembling.

What the weight of this recovery bar, also whats the measurement between the recovery points. I was thinking of one with no receiver is that still possible. I would love to install a 20 inch LED Bar between the recovery points and then an avid bumper guard out front. Thanks for any info

Weight is approx 55 lbs and the measurements between is I believe 24". It was designed to fit a 20" light bar between the recovery points. We stopped offering it without the receiver due to demand but we could do it for you if interested.

Just found this unit, definitely need one for winch purposes.

Question regarding the install, do you have to trim the bumper to get the hitch mount to fit through?

How close is the back of the hitch to the radiator? Looks like if you caved that a little it would smash all that in.

yes, there is a bit of trimming on the lower valence to for the Hitch and the recovery points, its all done in the black plastic grille, and you can get a part to replace the grill if you ever go back to stock. and theses tons of clearance behind, this replaces the factory aluminum crash bar assembly, so unless you rear end someone doing 80, your radiator will be fine.

^ Awesome, thanks. I'll be getting one in the near future.

Didn't realize it replaced the aluminum guard.

These things still come with a receiver or is that a special request kind of deal?

    Asking for a friend.
