This is my project/build for the 2017 demolition derby year. Just a bs timeline of my progress for whoever wants to follow along my journey.

This is what I'm starting with.
    1975 Chrysler newport
    1979 k10 chevy for engine

I am planning to do a complete rebuild of the 350 into a 383 stroker and sell the 360 that's in the Newport.

I picked up the newport for $150 (already had a $1,000 offer for the whole car already) very solid and hard car for demo derbies.

Drove the pickup home for $350 with no reverse. Will most likely pull the cab and just build a trailer out of the box and frame.

    Ford 9" from 78 F100

I traded an 86 foxbody for the 9" plus cash.

Did some stripping of interior parts last week
Found out that the front seat is bolted through the floor. I will remove the seat once the new lift gets delivered this week.

Picked up an extra 28 spline 9" rear end, wheels, a shifter, pair of 31 spline axles, and a couple tranny coolers this week.

The 9" came with a set of 5.13 gears.

This is cool. I have some cousins and family friends who are big time derby guys. They know how to build them that's for sure. Always have wanted to do it, maybe someday.

It is addicting. The building is as much fun as the actual derbying.

Here is my car from last year. 89 caddy.
Has 4 derbies on it. I decided to retire it due to frame being bent at firewall. It actually still runs and drives. Has a super clean 305 in it. That will soon be going into my wagon.

Tore into the 350 engine today... found why it was using oil.....
But i di find out it was bored .040 over already. Cylinder walls look good. So i will cut the lips and and throw a stroker kit at it... guess im doing a 385 instead of a 383 like i initially thought.

Dug a little deeper and decided to cut the cylinder ridges while i was in there.

    Homemade pulley/harmonic balencer puller.

Here is a video of me cutting a ridge.
