I've got a few questions for the 10/22 gurus.
I want to build a 10/22 as a suppressor host, I want the tactical solutions SBx barrel so I can have the handiness of a standard 16" barrel even with the suppressor attached.
I know i'll be replacing the stock with a thumbhole stock and I would like to replace the trigger group as well.

    Now for my questions.
Would it be better or cheaper for me to start from a receiver or just buy used for cheap and modify?
Are there any 10/22 trigger groups that use a bladed trigger system (I.E. savage accutrigger)?
Also do 10/22's usually run reliably in factory configuration while suppressed?

    Yes,
    no,
    I'm not sure..

However, I have a threaded 12.5" factory taper barrel I'm looking to sell. It has thread protector and a couple of "dummy" attachments. PM if interested. Also have a custom Butler Creek folder (cut down fore end and shortened stock) that would make a great place to start.

The new Volquartsen 22 rifles and pistols look pretty good! Expensive, but I bet they shoot and have top of the line parts in them!

Top one won 6th place in Ruger's 50th anniversary redesign contest. Lower is a 1968 finger groove sporter rebuild (by me). The fat barrel stuff is just so over done IMO. Most of my sporter tubes will hang with "most" fattys.

    Thanks for the info.

Still in the research stage right now, thinking of something like this for the stock, and I want to stay with the tactical solutions barrel (Or something similar) so I don't have to pay a tax stamp.

Why would you pay a tax stamp on a barrel, I thought that was only for the suppressor?

I would be making a SBR if I put a 12.5" barrel on a rifle, anything less than 16" is a SBR and requires the tax stamp, unless there's a permanently attached muzzle device or barrel shroud that brings the length to 16".

Was thinking the suppressor would provide the length. Failed to consider the can needs to be removed for cleaning so no permanent mount. I wonder if the criminals are following suit?

Either way you are going to end up paying the same amount of cash I would say for the better end get a new after market receiver and go from there. The inside of used stock receivers are rough AF which is the down side for accuracy and consistency.
