Hey all I've got a quick question about using an add-a-fuse. I want to wire up a Carling switch to switch an air compressor, so the switch is just controlling signal to a relay, no actual current. So if I use an add-a-fuse for my +12V source (pin 2) what capacity fuse should I use? Small as possible? The compressor has it's own fuses on the power wires running to the positive battery terminal. Thanks!

    I would use a 5 or 10.

less than 1 amp..but they are hard to get or cheaply made...Littel makes excellent 2 amp ones.

Id go with a 2 but its hard to get anything less then 5. If you are powering more then one switch Id use a 5.

@ 2 Watts per relay coil that would be almost 30 relay coils to power with a 5 amp fuse...

Amazon has low profile 2 & 3 amp. If your add-a-circuit is of the low profile kind.

2 amps is over kill for 1 relay as well, but as long as you go with the lowest possible you'll be fine. Those switches are rated for 20 amps.

Thanks guys! I'll try to find as small a fuse as I can.
