Better to ask what I have not done.
Photo dump. I really like how the grips feel in my hand and they seem very heavy for what they are. So that makes me feel better about strength:confused:

Carriage bolts out from the rail system with t-nuts to spin off quickly. Works well and cost less than $2

From my experience, Maxtrax are without question the best on the market. Everyone I go out with is using Maxtrax or has switched over to them from other brands. The Smittybuilt ones are pretty thin (relatively speaking) and there are many cases of them cracking. The TREDs get decent reviews and the material they are made of is similar to the Maxtrax. The handle ergonomics on the Treds is not as nice as it is on the Maxtrax if you use them as a shovel (which everyone does). My main complaint about the Treds is that they are uni-directional. They only have a ramp on one end vs a ramp on both ends of the Maxtrax. Even though all brands recommend no wheel spin when using traction boards, but in reality is somewhat unavoidable and when you have wheelspin the "nubs" can get worn down. If that happens with a Maxtrax, you can turn it around and use the other end of the Maxtrax. Can't do that with Treds.

FRP is definitely strong, but doesn't have as good of traction. Works well for bridging. Biggest downside is the weight. FRP boards are heavy.

Useful discussion on the topic here.

Need a favor from a couple of folks with plastic 5 gal jerry cans please. I am working on a beach shower set up on my swing out gate and my metal jerry cans with the CA carb style mouth/spout have an opening that is too small to fit the pump for the shower in. The pump is only 1.75" OD so I am curious if the plastic water cans with a regular round twist off cap have an ID larger that 1.75" that would allow me drop the pump in the can. My thought process is to simply drill a couple of holes in the plastic cap to route the hoses through.

If anyone has plastic water cans could you measure the opening for me and let me know the ID and the brand please, thanks !

Here's a link to some mods I did to a Scepter water can. I'm not sure what it measures but the opening is surely bigger than 1.75"

Is that blue one in your post an actual Scepter brand water can ? That opening is big enough for sure.

How much improvement in ride do you see with good shocks like that? I have an added leaf and my back end is pretty stiff and bouncy over ruts and washboards.

It's a massive difference compared to an emulsion shock especially if you do high speed driving for any period of time.
