If possible, I don't want to turn this into a 3rd Gen "bitching" thread but have a legitimate question for 3rd Gen owners.

Just saw a review from the Test Driven TV Youtube channel for the 2016 TRD Offroad (video below in case anyone wants to watch it). One thing he complained about was the amount of dash/interior trim rattles when he took the truck off road.

Not sure if I'm lucky but my 2010 makes no noise from these areas even when driving on washboard roads.

Anyone having issues with noisy with dashes/interior trim pieces?

    Very quite on pavement.

Sounds like a 15 year old jeep on the dirt.

I have a very slight dash rattle on mine but only notice it when its 90+ out. My solution is to just turn the radio up a little louder and the rattle goes away.

Not really no. I think the interior has been good. Now my leaf springs and rear wheel well liners are another story.

So I'm assuming that's no good (i.e. 15 year old jeep is like a 3 month old Dodge Caravan...? :D)

Funny, I noticed it yesterday for the first time, I was parked on a brick road for 5 hours in the sun, I got into my truck which was very hot and I heard it as I drove down the bumpy brick road. Either once the interior cooled down or I was off the brick it was silent again, I figured it was the plastics in the dash heating and expanding to the point they were rubbing on each other in a different way than designed.

My truck is pretty quiet on the road, except for some dash rattle which I believe is coming from the passenger dash speaker.

I have one, I think it's the center ventilation vent, or something behind there, but it's not audible with the radio on so I haven't took it apart yet to trace it down as it's kind of low on my to do list.
I've also noticed that the center stem on the instrument panel that adjust your instrument light brightness is a possible source of noise, but it's not making any for me. But if you touch it and move it up or down or side to side, you'll notice that it could be a noise maker. Nothing that can't be easily quite down though, if it should ever become a problem.

    Hope that helps
    Cheers!

I have a rattle in the right side of my dash that follows the dreaded engine buzz (RPM dependent). Goes away if I leave the passenger door open lol.

Ever since I first picked mine up brand new I noticed what sounded like the dash against the windshield rubbing. I've been turning the radio up. Figured it's a brand new truck and will wear itself in. 4200 miles later it still squeaks only when the radio is off...weird

Crawl control will take care of the dash noise.

Mine rattles a bit. Passenger door somewhere, dash pieces, head unit plastic, etc. If I push hard on the gray plastic piece above the head unit it stops, lol. Also squeaky springs as well. But my trucks name is Red Thunder, she's loud anyway. Usually don't hear much over the MF exhaust or my stereo anyway but it is annoying when going slow over rough terrain or just bumps on the road.

I dare say it makes more noise than my 7 year old 100,000 mile Tundra did. But it was just starting to develop one in the dash when I traded it in. Nothing like some of the older Mustangs I've driven though, those things ('05-'09 S197) are bad!

Had a rattle early on on the passenger side over some bumps but found it was just the belt buckle.

Other than that my dash gets a little creaking going on only in hot weather (95+) and if the dash has been in the sun for a while. I think when the dash heats up it expands and the plastic trim pieces rub against each other. Not a big deal for me.

    Completely silent otherwise.
