The dealer has had my truck the last couple of days for the "rumble strip" feel when braking issue. They were in contact with Toyota on this issue. Toyota has a kit out, although on back order right now, that is supposed to address the issue. It is a leafspring kit that is supposed to change the driveshaft angle. The SA also told me he believes the angle of the axle/rear diff is also supposed to change. They could not explain in great detail because today was the first they had heard of this themselves. They said it will be a week or two before parts arrive. There is not an official TSB for this yet according to my dealer.

If this is true, This is the best news ever man!

So much for it being a "normal characteristic".

I will finally love my truck if it stops vibrating!

 wonder if the "steering wheel damper" would help with the buzzing vibrations between 1800-2200 RPM...

Not sure what that is for. They did not mention that when I was there and I didn't notice it till I got to work.

Will all the overly defensive fanboys who believe this truck is perfect and dismiss others' issues please raise their hands. Oh wait I have 90% of them on ignore :D

If they fix all this, that takes care of just about every main problem we have with these trucks. Hope it works out!:fingerscrossed:

The thing that kinda sucks is I'm getting new leaf springs before I get the squeak. They did not know if the new ones are supposed to be squeak proof or not.

I will post after the repair. It might be a couple of weeks till it actually happens.

The rumble strip feel is caused by the front driveshaft spinning slowly. No repair in the rear is going to change this

Why is the front driveshaft spinning when it's not in 4 wheel drive?

Just due to the viscousness of the fluid. All 4wds do it. Only a couple RPM

Yea, the 16's have a disconnect. Front drive shaft should not be turning in 2x4.

Couple of rpm's shouldn't cause a vibration especially not under any load.

fine, don't believe me. People bitch when I don't provide technical help and then they argue when I do.

Put a go pro under the truck if you don't believe me. Jack up a vehicle and put it in neutral with the engine running, the wheels will still turn.
