I ask the dealership here in Lincoln Nebraska to check my tranny fluid becasue of all he people that have had there fluid low.

Dealership told me they would check to see if it is low. They said they had to hook a machine up to check it. They said if it's low then it's covered under warranty. Then they told me if its not low I would have to pay for it. So I said how much for that and they said $107.

So what do I do with this ? My appointment is next week.
So you can't check it manueally some how? I know there isn't a dipstick.

The 3rd gen DIY sticky points to the second gen guide, I believe the procedure is the same.

    None...yet!
I thought I read somewhere around here that after april/may/june Toyota figured this out and the new ones were good to go. It had something to do with the tow package and not compensating for the extra fluid needed for the tranny cooler in those. At least that's what I think I remember reading. Maybe someone else knows what/and where this was said...

Amazing at all these dealers that either don't know anything about the trucks the sell, or just lie to people.

The majority of the service writers have no clue or mechanical ability. A salesman gets you to buy the vehicle, a service writer takes your info and tries to upsell other service you don't need. A service manager is there to resolve any issues. The customer very rarely ever gets to talk to the techs.
I am a boat tech and my current service manager comes from the car industry and our service writer comes from the RV industry, neither one own a boat.
So when you talk to someone about anything service wise, you are not talking to a tech.
Now there are some places where a tech has become a service manager, but again, you usually don't talk to them unless you have an issue no one else can handle.

assume the machine they are talking about creates a vacuum in the tranny preventing fluid from draining out while they insert a tube into the drain hole set at a cretin height depending on the temp of the tranny at the time. this is done in lieu of waiting many hours for the tranny to cool. they then check the fluid manually by the tube they inserted. you need to get it done odds are in your favor it will need some fluid.......are they going to be honest about it????
