Quick question any recommendations on a 5' bed top cover, i begin to regret my decision of not getting one from dealer when i bought my 2016, but they wanted 1200 not sure it was reasonable, anyone bought one after market thats good?

I really like my Bak MX4. Paid just over $800, and free shipping from Morrie at TonneauFactory. Install wasn't too bad, had a buddy help me out and it was done quickly. There's a helpful youtube video out there showing them installing it on a '16 Taco. Rail system is still totally accessible. There are a lot of good options out there, but I have no problem recommending the MX4 and TonneauFactory.

I've got the undercover flex and I don't recommend it. It completely covers the cargo rails so you can't use them without removing its track system. It does keep water out well enough and looks good, but there are others that don't cover the rails.

How difficult is it to get that off if you need your full bed?

Anyone finding any online dealers offering a 2016 Undercover Classic? I'm only finding gen 1 and 2 years listed.

Extang 2.0 trifold is the best solid fold. Better than oem by miles.

Check out "Black Series" Tonneau covers. Should be able to get one for 300 shipped easy. They have a soft tri fold model that i found to be very good durable construction and actually like the look of it better than Extang s tri fold cover.

I got the factory tri-fold on my new taco for $650. So glad I did.

The dealership told me the factory cover is something that can't be added on after it leaves the factory - is that correct? or did you have the dealer add yours?

Hasn't the "bedtop cover saves MPGs" theory been proven to be a myth? I know the rumor is toyota installed a bunch of Tonneau covers to xx% of 3rd gens to improve fuel econ but not sure that really checks out???

That may be true as mine was already on the truck. I did notice that my local dealer only had them on the tacoma that had the premium&technology package. They are built very well and don't get in the way of the rail system.
