For sure, for sure. Yeah, the green egg is the way to go if you got the extra cash. I love when they're built into a table so only the top half sticks out and you have a huge prep area to work with instead of the just side trays. The chargriller is actually just fine for me. Like I said, its made of porcelain instead of ceramic like the green egg has, but it still holds temperature for many many hours. Next time I will get the green egg and build it into a table like the one pictured below that I found on the internet.

Thats actually exactly the set up my friend has. he uses it all the time and swears by it. im pretty sure id be more than happy with either though. im sure both hold heat better than most basic grills out there. ive actually been looking for that felt gasket material thats on the egg to try and seal the gaps in my grill. i doubt ill do it, but its a thought lol

Its prob not so much the gasket as it is the ceramic the grill is made of. It just holds heat for hours and at a steady temp. My chargriller actually will keep a good temp for easily over 8 hours without touching the coals. Once you know how much to open the bottom and top vents to get your desired temp, it holds it like a champ. Get one for sure! I think chargriller akorn kamado kooker sells for 288 on Amazon prime. Heres the link..

oh yea i know its mainly the material of the housing, i was going to get the gasket mainly to seal off excess ingress and egress points for air on mine. the more control you have over the airflow, the better control youd have over the temp i would think. but yea ive got an egg type grill on my wishlist, dont you worry lol. ive always wanted one. just up until recently theyve been beyond expensive!

Yeah but there's no sport in that. Take today for example... 95 degrees in Seattle area, WSM wants to fly to the moon. Then the sun goes behind the house and the WSM is in the shade, all good. Then a breeze kicks up and I'm going to the moon again. It's a dance :playball:

Yeah, but there's a bigger feeling of accomplishment if you can ride that bitch to the finish line. Kinda like Tom Hanks in Cast Away... "Look what I have done! I have made fire/smoke/food!" Kinda like that but not exactly o_O

I guess I could live dangerously like y'all, and constantly open and close my pellet pooper to mess with the temps. :notsure:
