Should have a pic of a 22+" rainbow...but my net man netted my lure instead of the fish and it got off. :frusty:

    Lake Alexander, Alaska.

They're a non native invasive species and they've completely decimated the salmon runs and trout populations in the creek draining the lake. Only access is by float plane so there's very little fishing pressure as well. We probably had a dozen in the 25-30" range and I had one a bit smaller than that picture. The lake was looking a bit gruesome by the end of the day though since live release of any pike is actually against the law. So we basically just go up there to kill off as many pike as possible. We much prefer a healthy salmon run to some pike.

Oh yeah, they're still tasty. I grew up in Minnesota so I've had plenty of pike in my lifetime already. But there's no way we were gonna spend time cleaning 100+ fish lol

We usually stay in Buxton, so I'm at the Point a lot, or Hatteras Inlet if I can get there. When we head over to Ocracoke, I'll fish anywhere and everywhere, usually between the pony pens ramp and the south point. I'll be in this. How bout you?20160813_183923188_iOS.jpg

We usually stay in Frisco. We rent a house on the bay side. I'm taking the kayak this year to see if I can get into some seatrout.

We hit the Point, some northern ramps (38) and southern ones (49 and 55). On Ocracoke, we usually hit 59. Last year, the Point was closed almost our entire stay so we had did a lot of hopping around. We had a lot of small blues hit. We got into the bigger ones a few times up on 38.
