Has anyone flipped the hitch to gain a couple of inches of clearance for the tongue. What's your thoughts? I know it's not designed to hold max weights but I'm towing a 17ft triton aluminum fishing/duck boat. My last truck had 6 inches of lift so wasn't a problem. But tongue looks a little close to ground to me. Thanks for feedback in advance.

Its done all the time. Its not stronger one way or the other.

The main reason is get the trailer to be as level as possible.

I think your talking about the drawbar and tow ball?

If so flipping the drawbar and putting the tow ball on the other side is just fine. I tow a jayco TT with the baja package so I had to do this to even get it home.
Look up the torque specs for the size of the shank on your ball. It'll be allot.

Yes that's it. I've got the baja edition also. I've been told flipping it reduces the weight it can handle but that's just hearsay. I've pulled like this before just wanted to hear that it's done often for ease of mind
