    Hello all,
New to this forum, certainly not new to forums in general though :)

Finally getting the Tacoma I always wanted. I'll be picking up this 2003 4x4 on Monday the 22nd (will be out of town this week on work travel).

I have owned a few Tacomas in the past (6), this will be my 7th which is sorta shocking to me... then again, I am 40. I love the smaller style of the first gens which is why I settled on this 03 model. Been looking for this exact color/model combo, so I had to jump on it.
    03 TRD 4x4 SR5 5speed.

A little back story, I worked at Toyota for about 6 years and had to sell my beloved TRD Tacoma back in 99 when I was buying my first home. Prior to the 99, I had a 98. Both were supercharged which was awesome, but I'm seeing that they are selling for a pretty penny still. Since those two, I have had a few 4 bangers for commuting and going to the race track in. Always wanted to get back in the V6 Prerunner game though.

Anyway, just your basic looking Tacoma I guess. I already ordered a set of leveling blocks on the front and would love to Supercharge it some day. Looks like $3k is what they sell for (same manufacturer of the old TRD's). I remember installed the smaller pulley and fuel booster pump back on my 09, but I don't remember this whole 7th injector stuff. Can someone fill me in?

Here are a couple pics in case you forgot when they look like.

Love it. I got a 99 same specs / same color plus the supercharger. Great rig! Love the larger fenders and grill on the 01-04. A gen 1 supercharger was listed in norcal couple days ago for $1500, you could probably scoop one up for under 3K in good shape

Just drove her back from Nevada yesterday (about 300 miles).
Ran like a top and got almost 22mpg on the highway at 65-70 mph. Is this the norm for highway MPG?

The only thing that made me go hmm, was the engine noise under acceleration. A bit louder than I would have expected. No ticks or anything, just seems like I can really feel and hear it though the gear shift (if that makes sense).

It's dead quite at idle, just thought it was louder than should be. Maybe it's the 4wd and transfer case etc? It has 4:10 gears as well.

I get 22MPG going 55MPH with a lift and bigger tires. So I'd say you're good. Noise is probably fine, but if you're really worried post a video of it.

    Ok cool.
yeah, noise is not bad or really strange sounding, just over 2k RPM's it's noticeably loud. I only have my 4cyl 98 Stick shift taco to compare it to, so not much of a baseline. :)
