Apparently you didn't get it. The thread with 100's of posts recently about the new diff gear ratios that would never end was false, incorrect, bs. So how did that matter to anyone ????

When I went through the lemon law process here in VA with a Mazda pickup, they ended up settling with me on the morning of our scheduled court date. I had them over a barrel and they were going to lose in court as I had them on all 3 stipulations of the law here. The truck was out of service for over 48 days in 1 calendar year. You have to follow the instructions to the "T" for your specific state lemon law. In almost all cases, you have to contact the manufacturer with your intentions (certified letter with tracking) and then they have X amount of days to contact you and arrange a final repair effort (at a completely different dealer in my case). If that last attempt does not resolve the issue, then you may proceed with the lemon law process. Of course a swap out of vehicles was offered but at that point, relations had suffered so bad between the dealer and myself, that I no longer wanted anything to do with company/dealer ever again. Basically the dealer became belligerent with me and they ended up paying royally for it at settlement. I was happy with the final settlement but the entire process was absolute hell.

Not sure how you've come to that conclusion. I've been researching getting into a tundra as the 5.7 V8 is a joy to drive (plus I'd love the extra room).
Fuelly is showing mid to high teens for MPGs as well. Unless you plan on towing on a regular basis or loading up the bed anywhere near capacity I'd say you'd get decent gas mileage out of it so long as your not doing 75-85 mph all the time. I'm looking into one personally.

Quick update...picked up the repaired truck today. As stated previously:

    Transfer case replacement
    Complimentary rear diff fluid change
Transmission tsb performed, AND 1/4 quart of ATF fluid add
    Idling is considered normal.

Thanks again for everyone's suggestions. I will be contacting Toyota corporate. What I don't handstand is the numerous posts dating back to initial launch of the 16 with owners stating low ATF fluid, and mine, which was manufactured in July 16 had low ATF fluid.

I strongly suggest to anyone here who has not had the transmission fluid level checked, please do so at your local dealer.

    Thanks again all.

Also to all limited owners with 18" michelins, honestly, I don't feel overly safe at 29 psi. Sure as hell rides well but the sag with increased friction at 80 mph makes me nervous. 32 psi eases my mind. Personal preference I suppose, but to me that's too much heat.

I got this and told myself I would just drive it until it exploded.

The problem is my brake pedal pulsating issue has gotten soo much more annoying and the diff howl is getting louder. The most irritating thing about the brakes is that they were designed that way?? I've never had a vehicle with vibrating brakes.

Its not a pleasure to drive. I won't look at Toyota's the same again.

The truck was making loud howling noise and I had informed my dealership about it the last time my truck was there and when I picked it up, they said, they have ordered the part for the howling issue, and when it arrives they'd let me know.. as weeks went by the howling noise increased,.. and then the day before the breakdown, I was looking under my truck and noticed the rear diff they;ve supposedly fixed was leaking again. At the time, I didn't put two and two together and think the howling noise couldn't be due to T-SB-0053-16 and perhaps could be the rear diff,.. but the noise was only noticeable when the windows were down. Anyways, on the way back home from work on the freeway, the truck jerked as if the rearwheels got locked, and the engine just died. I tried to restart a few times, until it did. Then drove to the buffer lane, and it did so with great resistance. God out and looked under and the diff was leaking, and smoking. Called roadside assistance, got it towed. Whether all these were related or not, that's what happened.

Sounds like a shortage of oil in the differential.

Why do you think a 2017 will solve your problems? It's basically the same truck. If you trade for a 2017 you'll just be deeper in the hole financially with the same issues. Trust me, I've had transmission issues from around 4,500 miles and Toyota Corporate doesn't care. They got their money out of you and me, so they don't need to worry about us anymore.
