I know there is a lot of post on these so sorry to repeat. I have had the BFG and really liked them. The 2 main questions that I have after reading pages of info on these is.

1 What are the actual size difference between the 2?

    2. Are the duratrac load range C that much better as far as highway ride?

These are going to be mounted on a set of TRD trail team gunmetal grey. The price on both tires are the same. Stock TRD Sport.

The duratracs are a lot more aggressive and open tread design. Deeper lugs. Thinner sidewall. I got duratracs 25% off so I bought them

So there is no size difference. The only complaint I keep hearing on the DT is road noise.

I have run both and will be going to Cooper ST Maxx soon. I would get the Duratrac Cs again if not for the rough ranch I hunt on. I ran a set on my 2009 for 2 seasons and never had a problem but I am going with the Coopers this time. The Duratracs are normally cheaper than the BFG mainly because of rebates. I see $20-$30 off per tire at Discount fairly regularly.

I've had Duratracs in that same size, load range C, for almost 2 years now and 25k miles or so.

They have performed very well for me in WY and MT as a year-round AT tire. In the mountains they are awesome, even in 12" of snow it's almost like snow chains! Pretty good in light to moderate mud although not a bona fide mud tire. On the road, again, I haven't had any problems really. They are somewhat loud at highway speeds but I can still hold a conversation at 75 mph. I'm sure there are much louder tires than the DT. I find the ride quality good enough for me, with my setup anyway.

I had to have them rebalanced a couple weeks ago. A lot of people report balancing issues with these DTs. Anyway, depending on where you live and what kind/how much off-road driving you do, I would recommend them.

Good call...however the KO is E load in this comparison. Tirerack doesn't list the KO in Load range C

    I've had both....;

Duratracs are far better in slick muddy conditions. Not even close.
Duratracs are better in snow. About equal on ice.
Duratracs have a slight advantage on wet roads.
I did better with Duratracs on gas mileage.
Wear, the KO's have a very slight advantage, but lose traction capability faster as they wear.
    KO's were quieter.
Duratracs are more sensitive to pressure. They didn't like under-inflation, and wear quick when over-inflated.

After having both, I'll buy Duratracs again and don't feel the same way about the KO's
Had a set of KM's on a 3/4 Dodge....Dangerous on wet roads and unstable under heavy load when inflated to best wear characteristics

    Too few to list.
Are you talking about just the KO's or KO2's?

Canadian tire here often has them 25% off. So 31x10.5x15 LT were $176. With the American dollar if you lived close to a Canadian tire it would be worth a trip

Somewhat off topic but is there a reason why not many people on here seem to run a standard 32/11.5 tire but i do see a lot of 265/75r16 or 285/75r16. Is there something im missing

32/11.5R15s use a 15" wheel, which does not fit on a 2nd gen.

They do, just not in the sizes that some of us want. I know you can get a 265 70 17 KO2 in C.

I find it really annoying that BFG doesn't make a direct factory size KO2 for Tacoma's that are C rated, the E's are just too dam heavy.

One thing I can add is looking at them side by side at the store , the BFG had deeper sipping. Speaking to the tire guy who runs the duratrac he echos most everything said by Bluegrass

It seems like that all the "reviews" I have read on these two are good. The BFG owners are very happy with them and not very many negative comments. The DT owners keep saying how amazing they are in snow and mud, the only recurring negative is the road noise. I think I will just look at them next to each other and then decide. I am planning on getting a set of DT for my Wrangler in the next years or so.
