Anyone herd of profender shocks? Came across a good deal and wondering if there worth it? There Toyota 100 series

 

I did. Shouldn't have to monitor anything. In fact this adds a new level of experience and attention required to use it. I'm not saying don't use one though.

 

Running them on the truck. I like them so far. No complaints with the shock at all!

 

Humm.. Damn this money pit.. When do you think they would need to be rebuilt?

You should be monitoring your hook as well. They just didn't have laser etching back in 1956 when you got your winch.

 

Way to take it out of context.
A hook and ring self correct, that billet block appears to cause a bind. It's all good bling man. And yes I do monitor my pulls. I've taught a class myself way back in the day before laser etching.

So as I see it you have to remove the D-ring to run it through the hole in this doodad, then hook the D-ring back up to the bumper?

Or run a D-ring between this doohickey and tow strap which is wrapped around the bumper or some sort of recovery point on the vehicle?

I do like how this thingamabob does protect the line when not in use so it doesn't rub or get pinched on rocks/etc

 

Lol, for the record, I never said don't use it, just that it's way over priced.
In the club, if we ever had to make a questionable recovery where the attachment was paramount, we removed the hook altogether and ran the D ring through the end of the line itself. Quality hooks have a roll pin for the line attachment as opposed to a permanent loop like some other styles.

 

This is exactly what you don't want to do. does that video show this happening?
