Damn... Now that I've done more research I might have to rescind my last statement.

Exactly what i told them, their reasons dont make sense. I kept running into the same road block until they told me they wont do anything anymore, so i was left with lemon law. But keep fighting i want to know when they fix this issue.

    .
I have owned and drove alot of trucks. Im currenty a happy 2015 tacoma owner. But i will say toyota isnt building trucks like they use to. My older toyota pickups were by far better built. An unfortunately i would venture to say that was because they were built in Japan back then. Anyway my next truck will be a crew max 5.7L tundra. Tons of room and power. But after owning a fj with the newer v6 (the same one they use in the new 4runners) i have to say they are top notch and toyota built another legendary engine when they upgraded the 4.0. The 4runners are nice just like the fj but i have to have a bed. So thats why i sold my fj and dont own a 4runner. I wish they had put the new v6 in the new tacos instead of the 3.5. In the end the tundra is american built. But has room and lots of power. The 4runner is jap built and is better offroad then the tundra. I say if you need a truck go tundra. If not go for the 4runner. Unless you buy a american desiel i dont think you will find another company even close to the quality of any of the toyota vehicles. Regardless if they are primarly built in us or japan.

Sorry to hear about your issues. But glad toyota stepped up to the plate and made it right. Good luck.

I agree the 2016 4runners are built 100 times better than the Tacomas. The tundras are better offroading where ground clearance is needed in mud holes, but a lift can fix that.:mudding:

4runners are quieter ride and more solid constrution, they are free of squeaks and rattles. I am at 2k miles and on the taco i had it in the shop at least 5 times at 2k miles and the 4runner has no issues.

My uncle had two generations of 4runners. He always liked the look and the overall package of them. His died a day before he was moving back to the east coast for orders. Due to the lack of vehicles locally around him he was convinced for towing and moving to get a tundra. Its been over 5 years and he hasn't looked back since. I have heard that new 4runner though is a nice ride. I dont know if I would have the guts to go 3rd gen on a Tacoma after your recent issues with stuff, I think by 2018 they might have that gen figured out completely. If I had to go non Toyota, I think I would go Chevy as their numbers look good for satisfaction as of late, and sorry, but I just am not a Ford fan.

That is why i bought a 4runner, i had a second gen with third gen issues, did not want to relive the nightmare with third gen issues.

Sorry man I was late to the game on this one. How do you like the runner? My pops was looking at one as he always owned one of those but the limited was crazy expensive so he got a rover instead for like 4k more.
