Well boats ya. I would generally spend about 4-6 months in Alaska then come home for about two weeks then go crabbing for another 6 months. Best job for a guy in his early 20's. Get to travel, see a lot of cool stuff and make a pile of money. This year I just went up north for a month, just enough to get my fix.

Cool! My uncle does the same but in the South and West Pacific Ocean. He's the helicopter pilot, mechanic, spotter for big tuna boats. If I didn't have my daughter, I'd def be on the boat with him.

Good I do not know. I just saw a shop off reed market/train trax next to Mike's auto and at the other end of the bldg where the canopy shop is located. I think there is another at about empire and butler market. Good, I don't know.

A friend of mine told a place called commercial powder coat was pretty good. I was going to just rattle can this bumper but I do not have the patience needed to not make it look like crap. Skid plates on the other hand.... They get the back yard special.

I put duplicolor on my bumpers. $70/gal at Fred Meyer. Works great! But is a but of a process to do it right. 4 coats is what I did. Took 2 days. Apply coast, let dry for several hours (drink beer), repeat. Forget bumpers and watch tv. Remember bumpers. Repeat process.

Yes sir. Depending on how it's applied it can be more/less. If you use a roller its less, brush more. The bumpers are less, sides of the truck I used the brush so, more. I think you can buy it with no texture compound in it but, don't quote me on that one.
Apply to bare metal for best results.

^I had too... Ya I might look into it. I just don't have anytime right now. With all this house stuff plus we have to go to washington for a week for my gf 10 year reunion and leaving to thailand my next two months is pretty booked. She actually went to seattle for the night so I enjoyed my last day of freedom and took the dog to paulina lake today.

Just a thought: if you decide to go this route vs the powder coat, let me know. Buy the stuff and bring it over to my garage and I'll have it done in a couple nights. Gives me a good excuse to be in the garage. Like I really need an excuse. I have a couple things going on with my truck which can't be done in one swoop, so having this too Will keep me busy.
Did ya hit the hot springs while up there?

I might take you up on that. Normally I would just go out to my garage when I get off work but my garage looks like a bomb went off in it right now. A really big bomb. I have a platform/drawer set up Im building on my work bench that I stained tonight (in the drinking beer and waiting phase) taking up my only work space.

The wait on the next coat is always the hardest part. I'm easily distracted.

Yep, back in the day when I smoked a lot of pot, nothing got done. Life was a lot more simple back then.
