so i drive a 2016 TRD OR 4x4 MT in socal, i commute about 30 miles each way, half stop and go traffic and the rest fwy, with like 3 miles of city.

I have about 760 miles on there, but now showing about 14 MPG...

    I have a 2.5 in lift with 33's...

I tried driving it pretty conservative, shifting before 3k rpms, and running no more then 70 mpg. that helped it go from 11 to 14 mpg.....

I reset my fuel calculator in my truck as I merged off the on ramp and was still in 4th gear.

I drove 24 km at 102 km/h (on cruise) on a flat highway and took this pic as I stopped at the stop sign on the off ramp.

I did a similar test last weekend and didn't get quite as low. I put a tonneau cover on last night (one variable along with wind and a different road).

V6, double cab 4x4 short box.

I'm averaging around 21 mpg after 3-4 days of ownership of my DCLB 4x4 with an upward trend after every trip. I'm about 50/50 country roads and highway 45 miles one way. Coming from a 2006 crew cab RAM with the 5.7 Hemi, I'm positively excited with what I've got so far.

My commute is 50/50 with 2 bridges and some pretty big hills.
Im on my 3rd tank of gas since I bought the truck a few weeks ago. I added an air dam just for better mpg.
    Pre-air dam averaged 22-22.4
Post air dam averaging 23-23.1 so far on this fill up. I have had a few trips display almost 26mpg after powering off the truck. I'm pretty impressed with it. I drive anywhere from 7-10mph over speed limit.

    See post 747

For those that are not getting Toyota`s advertised MPG it is due to one of two reasons, drive habits or mods to the truck, lift/wheels or both.

I will post again when I fill up this week and it will show again that the truck gets what Toyota says it`s supposed to get, I have gotten advertised MPG since week 1 and I expect that to continue.

On Order 2016 TRD Sport with Upgrade (DCSB 6MT)
No pics, sorry ... but I just got back from a longish trip and found this data interesting. I drive a 2016 Double Cab, 6MT, TRD Sport. Sorry for the metric numbers ;)

Best tank: 9.4l/100KM (~30MPG Imperial). This was with cruise control between 100 and 105 KM/h. (Distance of about 600KM)
Normal tank: ~11.0l/100KM (~25.5MPG Imperial). With cruise control between 105 and 115 KM/h. (Distance of about 560KM)
Worst tank: 12.7l/100KM (~22MPG Imperial). No cruise, the last 400KM to home ... speed varied ;)

    Other Data
I consistently get 11.5l/100KM in mixed city/highway driving. I get between 13.5 and 13.9l/100KM in mostly city driving. I can do better than 9.4l/100KM on the highway without cruise if I really baby it. At the end of the day, at speeds over 100KM/h you will start burning more gas per mile :)

Here it is as promised. Filled up this morning.

The math comes out to 21.247 Mpg.

Is the Fuel economy gauge dead on ? Maybe not, but it`s plenty close enough.

    MPG new.jpg

    MPG New2.jpg

As I have said many times, this truck has gotten advertised Mpg since week 1.

Just got back from Seattle, 4400KM round trip. Best gas mileage was a run to Pr. George of 600km. I got 30 IMP MPG. Coming home loaded with 500 IDPA cardboard targets mileage fell to 28.9 IMP MPG for the same trip. One thing I tried to do was maintain 100KPH or 60 mph which is the speed limit on the section of highway quoted. Never had to accelerate to pass any vehicles nor were any passing me.

My 1970 VW Beetle only got 30 IMP MPG and it was considered THE economy car of it's day. How times have changed.

Very happy with my truck in every respect. TRD Sport v6 auto.

    Take Care

Did a fillup, and took a 20 mile drive. Steady at 55mph, level roads, and ran it up to what you see in the image.
But tracking on Fuelly, I'm seeing a average of 19.8 MPG for over 6000 miles driven. Towing my 2500lb pop up A frame Chalet, I'm getting about 16-18 MPG. 20160823_114922.jpg

Amazing what this truck will do if you drive at a steady rate. On short drives it makes little sense to speed much over 60 mph anyway.
