When you go through Watersmeet as you're traveling across the U.P. headed for drummond, if you see a 3rd gen MGM DCSB OR that will be me. That or a a really badass looking 3rd gen 89 toyota pickup with a dog box, bunch of plott hounds hanging out of it, that too would be me.

It's that time of year, the trees are already beginning to turn colors and the wife and I will be going out on the trails almost every weekend. She is a professional fantasy football coach so we don't usually go on Sundays.
She doesn't mind if I go on my own and camp for the weekend if anyone else wants to do the same. We live in Coleman 48618 and are lucky enough to have seasonal roads and trails that begin about 1 mile from the house. Just a bit north are the ORV routes that will soon become snowmobile trails and they connect the entire Northern half of the lower peninsula and most of the Upper Peninsula. Almost all of the snowmobile routes are plenty wide not to scratch new paint and are more like dirt roads and trails. They do wander through the hills and are very scenic and often have more difficult four wheel drive areas that drivers can try along the way. About an hour north of us is st. Helen scramble area which is mostly sand dunes and there are a couple of pay to play mudpit / Rock Garden / Trails. One called Rocks and Valleys the other is Twisted Trails
I have a portable recovery winch and I can bring it in my choice of Toyota depending on the trails we intend to hit.
Who would like to join us for some Pure Michigan fall Color Fun Run

I'd be down, as long as activities with the family and hunting allows it! Sounds like a blast!

Nice to see some Toyotas at the dunes... My mom lives in Hart and we go a few times a year....
Should have thought to go to MI section, no one on TW knows about the dunes....

Sorry for the late notice but we are hitting the trails again tomorrow if anyone wants to join.
Thinking Cadillac area but still don't know and open for suggestions.
Anyone have info on the Troll Four Wheeler shin-dig. Travers city area?
It's still before peak color but most trees are showing signs and 10 to 15% are in full color and dropping leaves.

Dag, if only I had of checked yesterday. I'm going kayaking next weekend for a few days up the St. Joseph river and out to Lake Michigan, but maybe later this month I can meet up.

Nice where are you starting at? How many hours are you planning to spend on the water?

My brother lives in South Bend, so we are starting somewhere there. I'm not 100% sure where, he knows the launch point. It's about 60 or so miles out to Lake Michigan, and from what my brother tells me the current moves 3-5 mph. We're going out for 3 days/2 nights, and since we're fishing along the way we'll be spending a lot more time on the water than what is required to just paddle up to Lake Michigan. So the plan is to paddle along until we find nice places to fish, fish for a while, and then start paddling again. He knows a few places to camp along the way. I'm more along for the trip to keep him company, and he likes to plan these things :) ... also I think he likes having an extra truck so we can park one at the egress point for the drive back ;)

His F150 has the long bed, so the kayaks fit in it a bit better, but I can still fit 12-16' kayaks in my 5' bed with the bed extender to help :). No problem hauling multiples also since the width is adjustable on the extender, and I can either put the kayaks sideways, or stack them depending on which ones are being stacked together.
