South Carolina BS thread under new MANAGEMENT and lives in SC

Not as far as I've been able to tell; Fred Anderson Toyota made the same determination back in February according to service records. It's really just that one bit on the end of the right frame rail.

 

I'd say no, you can see the flakey salt corrosion all through the metal under the rear most bed bolt. Currently thinking of just chopping it off and using a piece from a donor frame to weld on; clean metal to clean metal. But, I've also noticed doing some digging for parts that all of the frame cross members are for sale individually, which tells me they can all be disconnected from the side rail. I could be talking out of my ass at this point, but if I can find a donor frame rail that's in good shape maybe I can swap it. I dunno, it's a weird issue.

 

Even so, since the inspection was already done and passed, Toyota could just say "We'll spray that ugly drippy goop all over your undercarriage, but we aren't replacing anything."

 

Did you have any luck with that guy with the smashed truck in Charlotte?

 

Texted him, he never responded. It was a 25 day old posting as of yesterday though so I'm not overly hopeful.

Yeah. The engine is in great shape though, and the trans seems good too. I figured if the rest of the truck had been babied then it would have been at least $18k; as it stands I may still have an $18k truck after I'm done with the restoration It's just annoying as it's time/money I'd rather be spending on lift and tahrs.

Get the bed extender and get a bed slide (custom) might make it better ... My bed extender comes in handy

 

Put a hard rubberized coating under the front fender wells. I think it turned out clean and nice.

I put it on last night and was dry at 5 this morning. I'm going to try the flex seal next

Yeah a lot of cutting was done there and hammering with a BFH
